Sister for Daisy

We have a few names we liked first time round but not 100% I know use ladies are good at this so thanks in advance Grin
I will list the name and then the name with dd

My use of Daisy as a middle name was to represent both my grandmother who both had Margaret as a name (one a first and the other a middle name) as neither went by Margaret I used Daisy for the love of flowers. I thought the Daisy /Margaret link was well known?

I have a Daisy, and had her brother been a girl he would have been Ruby. Out of your list I like Betsy most. I think Penelope, Arabella and Lillia feel very different and don't really go, although Bella as a stand-alone name would be lovely.

No we had not heard of Daisy being a Marguerite, firstly we are not French, and secondly I know of a few generations with the name as a stand alone name. We liked
The name therefore choose Daisy Smile definitely not marguerite.

Your name needs a different ending from Daisy on reflection. Therefore Daisy and Bella (Arabella) is better than Daisy and Betsy, or Daisy and Penny (Penelope).

One thing to remember I that you as a parent will have no influence whatsoever over your children's nn's. My son was never going to be ***, oh no, not over my dead body. At 21 he is known universally by that nn, even by his he's master, it is documented all over school magazines in sports reports!

Daisies are Marguerites. Had you really not come across that when naming your first daughter?
I like Penelope best from your ideas.

I think it dates back from Victorian times. The french for Daisy is marguerite so Margarets were often given the nn Daisy. My late aunt was one of them! Her sisters were Florence and Eleanor so I will suggest

I know of a phoebe so wouldn't be an option!
My Daisy isn't a Margaret, Never heard of it being short for anything?! Libby to knicknamey for me although nice enough :-)
Another flower name is not something we would consider either, even though lots of pretty other names

Ps, I love Bella but not Arabella. Annabella perhaps but not Arabella. That's hard to say, but neither Annabella nor Arabella match Daisy.

Also, I think Americans would think Bella and Daisy were cows.

Libby (short for elizabeth, like Daisy can be short for Margaret).

I also like the suggestions of Phoebe, and also of Penelope/Penny

I'd avoid another flower name, please say no to Rosie, Lily or Poppy.
