If you have/know an Eloise...

What does her name get shortened to? I'm hoping to avoid the ubiquitous 'Ellie'....

I have an Eloise. I don't mind (and she doesn't mind either) if her name is shortened to Ellie, but it's very annoying when people spell it 'Elouise'. Confused

My son would have been Eloise if he had been a girl. We discussed shortening to Ellie or Lola. I think it's a lovely name.

Mines 5 and nobody shortens it yet. What annoys me though, is that her name is El-o-ise, but people call her el-ou-ise.

I have a Eloisa she is known as Eloisa to everyone never shortened However many do try to call her eloise much to her annoyance.

The only Eloise I've met was called Ellie by her close family and Eloise by everyone else.

I know a Heloise who is known as this by everyone but very close family who call her Wheezy! I love this name, though, all of the spellings. Very beautiful.

It'll be her name, not yours. Ellie is a very obvious shortening of Elouise and she might love it - if you really don't like Ellie, don't do it.

I've got an Eloise (18) and she goes by Ellie or Elle.
