Love a a lot of the GOT names, but was wondering whether this name screams GOT or whether it was enough of a name before for GOT not to spring to mind.

Also, what are peoples' thoughts?

Really nice. I don't watch GoT so wouldn't have known thats where it's from. Always nice to hear a 'new' pretty name...breaks up the monotony of the usual humdrum meh names!

My only reservation would be that other viewers may have the same idea so it may become more heard of over the coming years. Very nice though.

Bogburglar99 · 22/05/2016 09:58

It's a nice enough name but I do think using GoT names is very high risk. Imagine the poor parents who liked the sound of Theon after the early series (and ONS says there were a few).

And to answer your other question, I wouldn't recognise it as a name outside GoT, and I think GoT watchers would quickly make the connection.

I thought of Game of Thrones straight away but there are an awful lot of Arwens etc around so it's not always a bad thing...

I would wait until the end of this series before you decide. I love game of thrones and love the name but we are building up to a reveal and who knows which side she will end up on!

I know a girl called Liyana and think it's very pretty

Never heard of it and don't watch GOT. I would think you had made it up but other than that it sounds ok. I would assume it was pronounced Lie-Anna but could see how people might think it was Lea-Anna with a youneeq spelling...

julfin · 22/05/2016 01:25

Ghost, GOT is game of thrones.

I'd assume it's pronounced Lie-Anna. If it's supposed to be pronounced Lee-Anna, better to spell it Leanna or people will mispronounce.

I like it either way.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 21/05/2016 23:25

I haven't got a tube of glue what GOT is, so It certainly never sprung to my mind. Is it pronounced Lee-Anna or Lie-Anna

mrschatty · 21/05/2016 23:04

I don't actually watch GOT...I know..where have I been...
So when I read your title I thought "unusual and I LIKE it! !"
I didn't make a GOT connection... I really like the name unique
