wobblywonderwoman · 15/05/2016 22:30

I hate the spelling neve. winter is a bit quirky for me

Love the other names

SirNiallDementia · 15/05/2016 22:28

Arthur is my favourite for the boys.
I really, really don't like Albie, It's too "cutesy" for me and I don't think it sounds like an adult's name.

Isla and Esme are really popular here, not sure if that would bother you?
I like Neve/ Neave/ Niamh but think people might struggle to spell or pronounce Niamh?
Winter is not my cup of tea at all..

Sophronia · 15/05/2016 22:19

I like all your boys names but prefer Albie when it's short for Albert. I like Neve from your girls list.

Violethenry · 15/05/2016 20:55

Wow thanks! Keep the feedback coming, taking note Smile

I love Arthur. I think out of the girls I like Isla best, I love Niamh but not Neve. X

Dungandbother · 15/05/2016 20:37

Arthur is ace. Arty, Arth
What about Albert? Bertie, Albie - more choice than just Albie

Charles meh. He'll be King soon enough then everyone will use it.

Neve please don't spell it that way. It looks like you don't know how to spell it and everyone knows how to spell Niamh nowadays. It comes up on spell checks. Neve is like spelling Olivia Ahlivear

Contrary to others I like Winter. I know a Summer. But Summer brings more pleasant things to mind if you know what I mean. Winter seems harsher, and colder.

Esme is nice. Probably would be pronounced wrong a lot.
Isla is really common. Pretty but common.

What about Nora, Beatie (Beatrice), Naomi, Iris - just trying to think along similar lines.

Stanley, Fred, Frankie avoiding more common Harry.

wigglesrock · 15/05/2016 20:31

Arthur - it seems to be the go to name for a lot of boys I know that are under 3 or so. I don't particularly like it so that might be clouding my perspective a bit.
Albie - not my cup of tea
Charles - the best out of the three

Neve - just looks like you can't spell or don't care
Isla - I quite like
Winter - bit of a guilty pleasure of mine Grin
Esme - I like it

mrsschu · 15/05/2016 20:31

Arthur - ok. I love nn Art though
Albie - like it but would probably use Albert on the BC
Charles - boring

Neve - please don't spell it like this, it's completely made up and looks like you can't spell. Niamh is fine although they were two a penny when I was growing up in Ireland
Isla - fine, will date quickly
Winter - awful
Esme - love it as long as it's pronounced Es-may

Hamiltoes · 15/05/2016 20:30

I love Winter! Second would be Esme, but its getting quite common.

Not really that keen on the boys names sorry Op

HouseOfBiscuits · 15/05/2016 20:25

Arthur - OK but a bit fuddy-duddy
Albie - OK but prefer Albert nn Bertie
Charles - quite nice

Neve - OK but would spell it Niamh
Isla - faddy
Winter - like
Esme - not keen

SuburbanRhonda · 15/05/2016 20:23

I agree, Neve doesn't look like a person's name. It looks like you chose Niamh but couldn't be bothered to make the effort to spell it correctly.

I don't think people will get the spelling wrong - it's quite popular these days.

UmbongoUnchained · 15/05/2016 20:21

I like all of those girls names but none of the boys names in afraid.

NoCapes · 15/05/2016 20:20

Oh Neve - but still

NoCapes · 15/05/2016 20:20

Neev looks awful like that, just looks like you can't spell properly

DramaAlpaca · 15/05/2016 20:20

Arthur & Charles are fine, Albie would be cute on a small child but I can't see it on an adult.

Isla & Esme are nice, I can't see Winter as a first name, and I really really dislike Neve - but I love Niamh.

Madbengalmum · 15/05/2016 20:18

Love All of your boys names, but dont like winter, sorry.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 15/05/2016 20:16

I'd swerve Albie and Winter to be honest, but the other names are nice.

TheodoreEvelynMoseby · 15/05/2016 20:16

Love Charles for boys name. All girls names are nice but not Winter, not for me I'm afraid

Dollius01 · 15/05/2016 20:10

Arthur and Esme, no contest!

MardleBum · 15/05/2016 20:09

Arthur or Charles (Albie is horrible) and Esme.

Violethenry · 15/05/2016 20:09

Thanks ladies, your all being kinder than I expected haha.
Yes I would use Charlie as a nn for Charles and do prefer neve spelling to Niamh as I have known that to get neem Confused

BennyTheBall · 15/05/2016 20:08

I like Esme but it's very common.

Our niece is Esme, but no-one knows how to pronounce it! Es-mee or Es-may - she gets both.

PinkParsnips · 15/05/2016 20:08

Like Charles, nn Charlie?
Albie OK
Arthur don't like sorry

Girls names are all lovely except Winter, also like previous poster I think Niamh is a nicer spelling.

QOD · 15/05/2016 20:08

Arthur and Albie and Isla are sooooo sooooo common år the mo.
they're the clare debby and Rachel of the 70's

FurryTurnip · 15/05/2016 20:06

Isla and Esme very popular at the moment, if that matters to you. Winter not great...like all the boys names though!
