Does a BOYS' name exist that isn't overly popular, sound similar to something overly popular, about to become overly popular or just plain boring or dated?

Blatantly plagiarising from another poster's thread but I have been wondering this about boys' names. DH & I are expecting our first baby in September and we've agreed on a girls' name but have absolutely no idea what to call our baby if it's a boy (we don't know the sex).

All suggestions would be much appreciated!

Both of my DS's names are on those lists!

I also like Patrick and Miles.

Thank you! Lots of great suggestions to mull over. Quite a few are taken by family members already (both my dad's name and DH's name have cropped up!), and others have been vetoed by DH (Peter 😂😂😂) but plenty of food for thought. Thank you! 🌼🌻

My little boy is called Flynn :)
Not many about, as it's more commonly used as a second name! Does sound really like 'Finn' though, which is getting more and more popular Hmm

Peter. Nice name but seems to have dropped out of favour as not common when I was at school and I only know one child with the name.

treaclesoda · 07/05/2016 23:32

Names are so regional it's hard to say overrall what is popular, because it differs so much. Eg a previous poster has said there aren't all that many Bens but where I live it's one of the most widely used boys names, I know loads of them, there are two in my DDs class alone. Nice name though.

Use the Scottish Baby names list - they give every name used over the year so if you go down near the bottom you may just find what you are looking for. Also SCotland has a population less than that of London and although all the names wont be Scottish, obviously they wont be used in as big numbers.

I came on to say Evan which a pp said - Welsh names would also be good.

Keir fits your bill too

Others I've picked of the list

Vincent
Torben
Tod
Sylvester
Stellen
Ross
Perry
Lowrie.....

I could go on, but you are probably beter looking yourself :)
