Eleanora - honest opinions please!

I've picked Eleanora as a potential name for my daughter, due in August. However, it has met with mixed responses - please tell me your honest opinions/reactions to it!

It makes me think of Eleanora's falcons, which are lovely. So I like it :)

It's nice enough but be wary that people are lazy, and when they don't understand a name your daughter will inevitably spend a lot of time correcting people that her name is not Lenora or Eleanor. My mother is Suzanne and is constantly having to correct people that she is not Susan.

And I love the name Eleanor. Never shorten it to Ellie, it is so nice as the whole name

Eleanora is lovely, but I agree that Leonora or Eleanor is easier on the tongue. There will be a big tendency to shorten Eleanora I would think.

I don't know how old you are OP but for me I immediately thought "Wizardora", a kids TV show from my youth about a batshit mad witch who wore some mad clothes. I think it's because it sounds a bit made up. Eleanor is nice though, just go with that.

My DH suggested it and at first I wasn't sure, but it's really grown on me and now it's the frontrunner! I do like just Eleanor too though..

KingJoffrey I think your responses have made me like the name even more!

It's not met with strong dislike by friends/family - people either like it or sort of say "oh.." Confused

It has plenty of options for nns. Ellie, Elle, Nora, Lenny maybe. I'm warming to it OP! I prefer it to Eleanor actually. Leonora is nicer though and still nice nns. I'd go for Leonora.

Not my cup of tea, but definitely a nice enough name. When you say mixed responses do you mean some people strongly dislike it? I don't see why they would.
