We like too many names, it's ridiculous. We seriously don't have a favourite...

I thought I'd turn it into a little game, that you can help with! Please tell me your favourite and least favourite, I'll then put those into separate piles; if someone then likes the opposite, it'll go back - it makes sense in my head! So, what's your favourite and least favourite (pick only 1).

If middle name is Sebastian (which I think you should definitely go for) then my vote changes to either Alexander or Leo.

Personally I prefer Alexander as a name, and I wouldn't worry about the syllables too much. But do still like Leo. Try them out for the day and report back Smile

LadyAntonella · 02/05/2016 07:45

*unlike Sebastien which I really like

LadyAntonella · 02/05/2016 07:44

Alexander Sebastien is lovely. It's a lot of syllables but who cares? My full name (not including surname) has nine syllables and it's never even crossed my mind that it's too many.

Alexander James is probably nicer though. We used a family name for DD's middle name (one I don't actually like as a name - I like Sebastien which I really like) and I wish we hadn't actually, or at least I wish we'd added another middle name which I actually liked!

josie25 · 02/05/2016 04:49

I love this!!

I vote Leo Sebastian!!

I know they weren't of the original 42 but it's deffo the best name. And the mn committee has helped you see this! Sebastian has to stay for the meaningfulness and Alexander Sebastian is too long

Or maybe you should start a new thread with Leo and Sebastian in the running and see if they make it to the end:

I have a shortlist of 44 names.....

He's gorgeous btw Flowers

dotdotdotmustdash · 02/05/2016 01:05

Alex, Ben or Jamie :-) He's lovely.

Tryingthisonefornow · 02/05/2016 00:52

Enjoying this, I have an alexander james though so nice to see the approval especially after the terrible day I've had

Go on alexander james! Grin

Ludways · 02/05/2016 00:07

I like Leo Sebastian, after all that. So title should be, I have 44 names but I'm only going to tell you 42, watch you all fight then go with the other two. lol!

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 01/05/2016 23:59

I love Alexander as first name, but with Sebastian as middle it's quite a mouthful (and a nightmare for them to learn to write at school!).

Honouring your DH's brother is lovely, think you should definitely keep it as a middle name.

So I'd vote James Sebastian Walker or Alexander James Walker depending if you are set on Sebastian as middle name. Would be a lovely first name too depending on how the family would feel about it.

PamelaPatriciaYouCanCallMePam · 01/05/2016 23:55

Op I'm beaten. Bought I could make it from beginning and see it through to the end but it turns out I can't hack the pace nowadays. Do let us know what Leo thinks of his name xx

OneMagnumisneverenough · 01/05/2016 23:54

Luke Sylvester Walker then you could have Luke Sly Walker. Or...........

Lucas Kai Walker :o :o :o

WiIdfire · 01/05/2016 23:52

I think Alexander Sebastian is a bit of a mouthful. Too many syllables.

WiIdfire · 01/05/2016 23:51

Leo Sebastian is rather lovely.
Alexander James is fab.
Luke S Walker is just plain awesome.

Have you tried these out on dh yet?

IslaSinga · 01/05/2016 23:43

Leo Sebastian is great!

Or Noah Sebastian!

FastWindow · 01/05/2016 23:39

callmepam you're right.

Not sure these days if a non searchable name isnt an advantage though.

John Walker...Wont be targeted on the interwebs.

Jonnh Walker... Very searchable. Little bit scary what you have to consider now? Hate the new fangled web thing. Too new for old like me parents

OneMagnumisneverenough · 01/05/2016 23:37

Ds2 didn't have a name for a week and half so there is no panic.
try out our your favourites for a few days and see what feels right.

Somerville · 01/05/2016 23:36

I've now broken my no-screens-in-bedroom rule. Desperate times and all that.

Counting back, PP's are right, Alexander has it.

Alexander Sebastian is gorgeous and meaningful.

But he's your baby OP and if this process has shown you that you had a subconscious favourite then that's quite alright of course. Flowers

Pleeeeaaaaase just tell us what it is?

ANewLittleBoy · 01/05/2016 23:34

Sebastian was my DH's brother's name, who died when he was 10.

Leo was suggested earlier Wink

I'll still use something from the list! I just feel weird making the final choice after all your hard work Grin

Hold on, neither Leo nor Sebastian were on the original list feels cheated

It is cute though... 😉

FastWindow · 01/05/2016 23:30

MaryZ i quite agree but in this mad day and age im sure a simple misspelled Matthew would be ambrosia to the teachers who have to keep track of the Jayms, Kaydees and Codees of the current classes.

Where are the Johns and Marks?!

So then... As if we actually had any say... I vote against George. Because of Prince George.

Write Matthew on one boob, Alexander on the other, and see which he roots for.

Tally (until 10.45 when people started to repeat themselves)

Alexander: +30, -3.
Matthew: +12, -6.
James: +10, -3.
William: +6, -7.

Hope that helps.

ANewLittleBoy · 01/05/2016 23:27
