Boys Name we have loads

Ok so I like unusual names so if you don't you won't like any of these. I know that our name choices are very marmite.

I am pregnant with ds4 and this time around we are really struggling. So far we have an Evan, Clayton & Teddy.

Names we like are:
Bowie
Rafferty
Albie
Tate

Today we had FIL and DHs step mum over for dinner. We spoke about names and she said her dad was called Monty. I quite like it although our surname starts with an M but I think it goes well. I know that people may say about the dog thing but I get that with my son Teddy anyway. What do you think?

I'd go for Monty. Family connection, goes perfectly with Teddy, and sounds cool / won't date as much.

Yes Rafferty is winning so far. DH and I are constantly testing out names in all situations haha

My DH won't let me have Rafferty (much as I've tried), so I'd be delighted if you had it!

Hey July ladies!

I love Rafferty followed by Albie as a close second.

Monty is nice but may be suited to a pet name? Can't help but think of my childhood best friend's dog Monty!

Hi Beautician - Rafferty by a country mile followed by Monty as family-relevant and cool second name? Bowie feels more dog-like to me (how about Lil Bow Wow?!!!) and agree on the try-hard element of it.

Me too. I could guess their characters from their behaviour on the inside-and I was right! They all really suit their names.

Waitrose I see what you mean haha. I've always had a name picked out as I don't think you can really tell what name a squidgy newborn face suits. That's why I had hoped the vote wouldn't be so close .

I know I shouldn't but every time someone says 'we'll see what baby looks like and choose a name' I imagine a world full of people called Winston (Churchill) Grin

Ooh it's close beaut - I think it's a good idea to have 2 or 3 names to choose from when you meet baby anyway.

Hi beautitian, my vote goes to Rafferty, with second place Albie.

Quite jealous as my DH likes very traditional boys names, having a hard enough job steering him out of the top 5 most popular, let alone anything more interesting! (Though I have managed to get him to think my top girls name was his idea - win!)

beautician - I am finding names very hard, especially as you know we are after a Welsh name.
I like Albie a lot & will be in our shortlist if we have a boy. Second fav is monty. Doesn't remind of a dog but the gardener!

We are also thinking about Albie beautician :) I love love Rafferty but it sounds ridiculous with our surname.

Monty is fab and perfect with Teddy.

I think my favourites are Rafferty (I also love Rafe but again to many r's) Albie then Monty!

Good luck choosing we are still finding names really hard. So many girls names I love which doesn't help at all!!

Julfin hello. It would be straight up Monty. We were the same with Teddy almost called him Theodore and Teddy for short but decided we just loved Teddy.

So far on here and on a fb mums group.

My votes are firstly for Rafferty and secondly for Monty.

If you had monty, would it be short for Montague/Montgomery, or just straight-up monty? (My grandfather who I never met was Montague nn Monty.

I certainly don't think of dogs.
