We are torn! Our DD will be here in a month or so and we like all three of these names. Which do you like best? Middle name will be Florence.

Also if you are interested in popularity, according to the ONS in 2014 Martha was 69th the most popular name (807 babies), Rosa the 225th (229 babies) whilst Merryn was 907th (41 babies).

Rosa. Elegant and timeless.

Martha sounds a bit drab.

Dislike Merryn.

libertine80 · 23/04/2016 12:45

I have a Merryn and always get compliments on her name. It's pronounced Meh-rin for anyone who is struggling with the pronunciation. We've never had any incorrect pronunciations btw.

Thanks again everyone - it is good to hear what other people think. I hadn't expected as much love for Merryn - you don't hear it very often so I assumed it was a bit more of a marmite name.

I love Merryn! I know an adult called Merryn and I think it's simple, pretty, unusual, lovely.

MadameDePompom · 22/04/2016 13:08

Merryn. What a lovely name.

sillyoldfool · 22/04/2016 12:37

Merryn

joyfulworld · 22/04/2016 09:32

I like Merryn best. :)

Standalittletaller · 22/04/2016 07:24

Never heard of Merryn and I think it's one of those names that people would forget.

I like Martha and have never met one.

29redshoes · 22/04/2016 07:23

I like Martha best.

septembersunshine · 22/04/2016 06:54

Rosa would be my first choice followed by Martha (closely followed!).I am not sure what to make of Merryn. I have never heard of this name and I'm unsure how to pronounce it. It looks a bit messy written down and I think it looks a bit hard syllabled compared to the other two. They are much softer and prettier imo.

NadiaWadia · 22/04/2016 06:44

Rosa is lovely.

arandomname · 21/04/2016 23:36

Merryn

AtiaoftheJulii · 21/04/2016 23:27

I think Martha flows best with Florence. I love Merryn though.

ChubbyPolecat · 21/04/2016 23:26

Merryn

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 21/04/2016 23:25

Merryn is my number one unused name. I absolutely love it but DH vetoed it twice. If there's a third time around, it's mine!

Rosa

Sophronia · 21/04/2016 22:20

Martha or Rosa. The only Merryn I know is a boy.

babybonbon · 21/04/2016 21:38

Thanks everyone. We love them all, but it looks like Martha is a little bit ahead. I think it is my favourite so we might just go with it. Smile
