First and surname too similar?

We have one DD and preparing to start TTC after next AF. Thinking of names and the girls one we like, we really really like. However, it starts with a Joo sound and our surname (double barrelled) also starts with a Joo sound (different spellings). Too much?

I think it's fine given that a) Juno/Juniper are more than one syllable and b) the Joo is spelt differently (not sure why that makes a difference, but it does imo). Juno Duke-Evans for example sounds fine (whereas Jude June-Evans wouldn't). Go for it!

I don't think you can do it. We really nearly went for similar names- think Daisy Days and eventually Mumsnetters out me off- lots of DHs said it sounded like a stripper name. Be careful with matchy names that they don't sound a bit stage name

Go with Juno. However, I don't think it'll sound good with your surname

Oh thanks, we rreally love it too! Juno more than Juniper mainly because it wouldn't get used bar on paper but also because it sounds like Jupiter and there is a fictional character with DDs name whose sibling is Jupiter haha.

I think temp's right. You need more than one syllable. I also think that the longer, Juliana, and the consonant ending, Juliet, make them np better than Julia/Giulia.

Thank you. The first name is actually Juno but felt we could use Juniper and Juno would be the name they would go by. The surname is one syllable followed by a surname with two syllables. Maybe it'll be ok then!! Thanks for your input. It will remain top of the name list then!

How many syllables does the first name have? If it's only one, as in your example, then I think, it is too much. If it has more, it would not be as obvious.

I have a very distinct surname so shan't be putting that on (easily traced!) but for example: June Juice-Smith. Obviously it's a ridiculous name and just an example but is the repeated Joo sound too much?
