I'm not sure people are ready for the re-appearance of Patricia as a baby name, most Patricias must be 60+. However if I block my associations with women of this age group, I can see it is actually quite a good name and Patty is cute as a nickname. Maybe you could be the brave pioneer to start its comeback!

DH'S nanna is Patricia and we was considering Patsie for our baby but found out were expecting a boy!

There are two in my child's nursery school! Seems to be a popular Eastern European name at the moment. Both spelt Patrizia I think but the staff seem to pronounce it Patricia.

Love Patrick. Patrica...not so much. It's a bit mumsy. But I am Irish so that might be bias on my part as it was overused among a certain generation in Ireland.

I have a French friend called Patricia who uses the nickname 'Pati' said with a French accent and she is the only person I know who can make the name sound stylish!

I considered Patricia as a middle name if my DS had been a girl, after my nan. In the end we decided on a different name but obviously didn't need it anyway! I wouldn't choose it as a first name personally, although I do think it's quite pretty (but I seem to be a minority!)

No. My mum is a Patricia and she loathes it. Made all her children promise not to saddle any granddaughters with it as a middle name!

No. sorry to all the Patricias out there but I really don't like it and the shortened versions - Trish, Trisha, Pat, Patty etc are worse.

Maybe if you didn't grow up in Ireland though you might like it ...
