Any suggestions for a Welsh, or possibly just Gaelic - like, girls name?!!

Neither do I!

WellErrr · 18/04/2016 11:11

No thank goodness!

MindfulBear · 18/04/2016 10:49

Ha ha ha. Machine?!! Brilliant. Do you know anyone with that name?

Ffion3107 · 17/04/2016 20:50

Peiriant is machine!

MindfulBear · 17/04/2016 12:02

What is Peiriant?!

YourLeftElbow · 16/04/2016 19:18

Cacwn! Mam bach. Nononono.
Am Grin about Peiriant though- now I think about it, it does sound like a name.

WellErrr · 16/04/2016 19:16

I saw Periant too once on a name website Grin

OrlandaFuriosa · 16/04/2016 16:03

It's a hornet, surely?

OvariesForgotHerPassword · 15/04/2016 15:09

Please don't call your child Cacwn Hmm

Voteforpedr0 · 15/04/2016 01:22

Rhiannon is my favourite Welsh name. Very strong but beautiful at the same time & a fleetwood mac great

officerhinrika · 15/04/2016 01:07

My favourites would be
Olwen
Mair
Morfydd
Non
But I had boys!

MindfulBear · 15/04/2016 00:53

Cacwn would be great as DH loves bees :)

Already have a Seren in the family

OP posts:
YourLeftElbow · 14/04/2016 09:22

I think Seren is okay- there's looooads of them here.
Please check with a Welsh speaker before you name your girl- some names here aren't Welsh, are incorrectly spelled, or are very very odd.
I saw Artaith as a girl's name on an American baby name site- the Welsh word for torture! Shock

FifiRebel · 14/04/2016 09:05

I wouldn't go with Seren or Cariad - unless you would call your baby Star or Love in English!

Not sure if I've seen Heledd mentioned already on thread. I like Nia, Catrin, Sian, Megan, Ffion.

OvariesForgotHerPassword · 14/04/2016 07:51

The Welsh version of Fleur is spelled Fflur any way Wink

I can highly recommend Celyn Grin

holeinmyheart · 14/04/2016 07:47

Diolch, fluerg sorry, made a mistake. Fleur not Fluer. What was I thinking. I do think the OP has enough names now.

WellErrr · 14/04/2016 07:23

Just don't choose anything from a baby names website without checking here first - they're either made up or mean things in Welsh.

Eg I saw Cacwn on one - means bumblebee Grin

Fleurg · 14/04/2016 07:15

Holeinmyheart
