Anyone met a baby/child called calais?

Dd named calais and wondered if anyone had heard it before/opinions (good or bad) on it.
I'd never heard it as a name until oh mentioned it but I love it now

Its actually quite a pretty name. Its a shame its so well known for being quite a grim place. Do you have connections to the area?

To answer the OP, no I've never heard of a child named Calais. When I hear the name all I think of is the misery of thousands of people living under tarpaulin, chikdren playing in mud and hunger.

I teach a Calais. This may out me. I may have to name change now, haha. Not my preference, but she seems to have coped with it!

I've never come across a Calais before, but there are plenty of Brittanys and Parises around, so why not?
I know a Nice too. And a Lyon. Well, his mum says it like that...
