My neighbours dog is Bert. Albert or Robert then shorten it if you must. Loads of Albies about at the moment though.

We had Ernie on our list of ds2, he would have been Ernest, with Ernie as nickname

I'd probably register Robert, or Albert and tell everyone he was named Bertie.
