5 weeks old (today) and still no name...

Hi there, DS arrived 5 weeks ago - I hate introducing him, everyone is so confused... He is nameless.

DP's favourite is Blue. Yep, Blue. He wants to give him the NN Bluey... Hmm

My favourite is Louis.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a name similar to both? But of a long shot, but it's worth a try.

I've only heard Bluey used for a porno too.

I think you are both going a bit nuts with the decision. My DD1 didn't have a name until right up until the deadline so I know how batsh*t it can drive you.

Louis is a fine name. The whole Lewis/Loo-eee pronunciation thing puts me off a bit though. Sorry not very helpful.

Maybe you need some fresh eyes from something like Nymbler or that site that cross matches partners on which names they agree on from a long list of randoms

A bluey means a blue movie? I wouldn't have that as a nn tbh. Louis is a lovely name though.

Louis with nn Bluey could work fine....or......

You go for a first Name beginning with B and middle name Louis so technically he could be B. Louis? i.e Bluey

My best friend as a toddler was called blue. It doesn't sound odd to me, but I do prefer Louis

They sound so similar. Go with Louis and he can be nn bluey Louis. Or gooey Louis or anything else that rhymes.

Call him Louis and let your DH nickname his Bluey Louis. That way he'll have a proper non-ridiculous name you can present to the rest of the world and DH can indulge his daft preference.

Loads of kids end up being called soppy nicknames by their parents by accident anyway!
