After a colour in the rainbow. What do you choose for boy and a girl?

I would choose Red for a boy and Violet for a girl.

Red for a boy, Indigo for a girl nickname Indie.

OneMagnumisneverenough · 20/03/2016 17:01

Indigo Blue for a boy and
Violet Blue for a girl.

iklboo · 20/03/2016 16:14

Indigo for a boy
Violet for a girl

LordTrash · 20/03/2016 16:12

Indigo (boy), Violet (girl)

If all shades of colour are allowed, I'd go for Russet (boy) and Scarlet (girl).

MyNewBearTotoro · 20/03/2016 16:10

Indigo and Violet were both on my short list had DS been a girl.

Blue for a boy.

coughingbean · 20/03/2016 16:10

A male in my family is already called Red Grin We also have more of the names listed her but I won't list them for fear of being outed!
I have an unusual family Confused

IoraRua · 20/03/2016 16:05

Indigo for a boy, Violet for a girl.

Arpege · 20/03/2016 15:58

Blue for a boy or girl

LightTurquoise · 20/03/2016 15:52

Blue (boy)
Violet (girl) - this was on our list!

Kpo58 · 20/03/2016 11:58

If we go with the original Pokemon games, then:
Red & Blue = Boys names
Green & Yellow = Girls names

TippyTappyLappyToppy · 20/03/2016 11:18

It's obviously going to be Violet for a girl, Red for a boy and Indigo for the spirited child of over-indulgent Hippy parents.

megletthesecond · 20/03/2016 11:15

Red for a boy (thinking Shawshank Redemption here).

Indigo for a girl (I used to know one).

StitchesInTime · 20/03/2016 11:11

what about when they get a letter sent to "Indigo Stitches"? hmm?

Middle names with different initials?

00100001 · 20/03/2016 11:02

if you;re prepared to take that chance and risk a Chocolate bar.... !

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 20/03/2016 11:00

Red - boy
indigo - girl.

Although we would have to chose outlandish middle names the dc could be known as, with every other child having your name, both boys and girls.

00100001 · 20/03/2016 10:57

what about when they get a letter sent to "Indigo Stitches"? hmm?

Honestly this is a serious business!

that's why hyphenation was allowed, in case for some reason you used all seven names in your family. .... obvs

StitchesInTime · 20/03/2016 10:45

No numbers?

Hmmm. Maybe I'll call DS1 Indigo, nn Indy, and DS2 Indigo, nn Go. That way we'll avoid any confusion.

ThornyBird · 20/03/2016 10:43

I already have a DS who is a Red! Don't know what I'd call the other 3 DC though Grin

antiqueroadhoe · 20/03/2016 10:43

No numbers can be involved so you would have to give them different names

StitchesInTime · 20/03/2016 10:42

Indigo for a boy and Violet for a girl.

But I have 2 boys, so that would be a problem. Would it be terribly unimaginative to call them Indigo-1 and Indigo-2?

antiqueroadhoe · 20/03/2016 10:41

Thanks, OP, for clarifying those rules. There are some posters here who appear to think they can circumnavigate the decree.

Red for a boy (after shawshank redemption)
And Indigo for a girl.

00100001 · 20/03/2016 10:37

Let's all pretend that Indigo is typed correctly in that last post.

and that my italics worked

Errr, the law clearly states this:

^"It has been decreed that from the time that Binary posts on MN, that the only allowable names for children will be Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Infidgo or Violet. No exceptions, no other spellings, no taking into account languages, no shades. Hyphenation is allowable.

Law breakers will be issued with the MN Sanction of: Chocolate

Signed: The Law Maker"^

So away with your Giallo-Blues and Vermilions! Grin

Pick an allowed name :p
