Help

I have to register my little mans name in 2 hours and not sure what to call him, he's 7 weeks old so cannot extend with registrar.. Help

Short list was
Rex (too dog?)
Huxley (bit too unusual)
Zachary (bit American?)

We already have a Freya and a Zander as well as 2 little guys who were stillborn (Alex and Daniel) (think that's why it is so hard to name him)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
thisismypassword · 18/03/2016 16:02

Huxley is a cartoon pig isn't he? It sounds like pugsley from the Addams family. Zachary is the best one.

IoraRua · 18/03/2016 15:23

Hit post too soon...I do think Zachary and Zander are very similar though. So I would keep looking.

IoraRua · 18/03/2016 15:21

I don't like Huxley, it sounds like someone retching.
Rex - no, hate it. Reminds me of toilet paper.
Zachary is lovely though!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 18/03/2016 15:11

Aw that was nice of her Nicnar!

Xmasbaby11 · 18/03/2016 14:25

Enjoy choosing. It's important to choose a name you both love.

PurpleAlerts · 18/03/2016 14:22

Sorry don't particularly like Rex or Huxley.
Zachary is lovely but is quite similar to Zander.
How about:
Rory
Harley
Harrison
Fox
Edward (Teddy)
Wolfie

autumnmoon · 18/03/2016 14:16

Ahh, good that you have a bit of breathing space

Huxley and Rex are both lovely and go well with your other children's names. But if you hesitated, perhaps you need to think again. Good luck!

Scattymere · 18/03/2016 14:08

Another vote for the fabulous Rex!
How on earth is it "boring"?! Super cute and cheeky on a boy and hot on a grown man, love it.

Bellasima20 · 18/03/2016 14:06

Rex- all the way OP!

Rex is not "A" dogs name, yes maybe centuries ago it was one of the few classic names people named their dogs, but have you met one dog now called Rex? Probably not, I've met several dog Jacks, a Donald, Bob and Lucy but do people say these are dogs names?!

Rex is strong, classic, individual, cheek and energetic, I adore it. It sounds beautiful and looks gorgeous written too. Just be brave, it pays off!
Saying that Zachary is great too.

ProfessorPickles · 18/03/2016 13:47

That's really kind of her, you definitely need to make the right choice so now you have time at least! Smile

Northernlurker · 18/03/2016 13:47

I like Huxley. Rex is boring and Zachary and xander is not easy to say

Nicnar · 18/03/2016 13:38

Thanks for all your help

We got to our appointment and sat there blank faced.. Registrar has given us a 2 week extension, rather we made a choice we were both happy with than something we might regret which was nice of her

OP posts:
Sophronia · 18/03/2016 13:32

Huxley sounds very American and will date.

Rex is a dogs name.

Zachary is lovely but too close to Zander.

You should just choose which ever name YOU like. We all have different opinions and likes and dislikes.

I'd offer Leo, Max, Isaac and Eli

ProfessorPickles · 18/03/2016 13:29

Really not keen on Rex or Huxley, Zachary is my personal favourite!
Hope you get a name sorted OP

SirVixofVixHall · 18/03/2016 13:25

Rex. I hate surnamey names like Huxley, which sounds more like a dog's name to me than Rex does. And Zachary is too trendy. Rex is an underused classic.
Oh and if it makes you feel better, we were down to 20 minutes before the appointment and dd2 still hadn't been named.

Dextyboo · 18/03/2016 13:22

i love huxley and zachary second

BendydickCuminsnatch · 18/03/2016 13:18

What did you go with? I think they all go well with your other DC, hard decision!! Flowers

RockUnit · 18/03/2016 13:08

Rex is quite nice.

Zachary is a lovely name but too close to Zander

Huxley is a cartoon pig.

Freya, Zander and...

Max
Leo
Harvey
Harrison
Luke
Tristan
William
Edward
James
Isaac

Raines100 · 18/03/2016 11:35

Sorry, I meant sad.

Raines100 · 18/03/2016 11:35

Congrats on your son m. Flowers for your dad losses.

Zachary- love it! It is biblical so not American-sounding, and no one would bat an eyelid over an Ava and Amelia, so don't see Xander and Zachary being a problem.

Also like Rex. Huxley not so much.

midnightlurker · 18/03/2016 11:32

Huxley

BettyBi0 · 18/03/2016 11:29

Huxley is on my short list for DS due v soon. It seems to be a pretty Marmite name as people I've tried it out on either sang the Huxley pig song, or mention the clothing or restaurants chain which put off my DP but not me.

I think Zachary is ace too.

Good luck OP! I was at the wire for naming DD1 and know how much it can do your head in x

insan1tyscartching · 18/03/2016 11:09

I think Zachary is too similar to Xander, of the other two I prefer Rex.
