Can I name my child after a vegetable?

My DH has a list of traditional names he wants to call our child. Things like Mary or Sarah if it's a girl and John or Michael if it's a boy.
I've talked to my friends about it and they all seem to think this is a good idea but I have my own list of names that my DH thinks I got rid of.
What I want to know is; are these names good names for a child? So far I've got: Endive, Guava, Pepper, Radish and Zucchini. I like them because they sound exotic and unique.

I was all ready to say that you weren't being unreasonable and that they are a great list of names until I saw zucchini. American names? Tsk! Courgette OP, courgette!

Yuzu or Chard for a boy.

I don't think the names sound exotic op, they just sound like vegetables. Your child will be teased if you name them after a vegetable.

I wouldn't go with Tomato, you'd have problems with people pronouncing it. Always asking if it's Tomahto or Tomayto.

OP, this is a weird thread. I don't understand why you posted. If you listed some names then people could comment on them but to just state that you want to name a baby after a vegetable is pointless unless you are trying and failing to be funny.
