I like Eliot for a girl but then DH and I wanted to call DS1 Dylan if he'd been a she!

In your shoes, I'd just go with Elliott. When people meet her they'll know she's a girl, she can always use Ellie if she wants something more feminine - and you never know, it might open doors... (I've just been reading about how identical CVs are favoured more if they have a male name attached to them instead of female. Now I can see why people are calling their daughters James!)

Kiera Carter makes me think of Kevin Carter (photographer, and subject of a Manics song).

I actually know an Elliotte and don't think the name has caused her any issues.

Hmm, thank you. It is my DH's favourite too. Now, I like Kiera more, but like the NN CeCe for Ciara...

If a little girl told you this was her name, how would you spell it?

Kiera is fine. It goes with the male Kier.

Kiera Carter/Ciara Carter sound and look good to me!

Sorry, but Keira seems grammatically incorrect, it's lovely still, but Keira was meant to be Kiera and I think Keira only because more popular because of the actor!

Ciara is nice as it's the original, but I'm no where near Ireland and some people pronounce that wrong, but I do like the nickname of CeCe, because of the CC initials :)

I wouldn't go with Elliot - it would be Elliott.

If Kiera Carter genuinely sounds okay, I will probably lean towards that.

Finnleigh is worse than toilet Elliotte in my opinion. There is no level on which this works as a girl's name imo.

A boy's name with a feminine spelling is just daft. Either pick a unisex name and spell it normally or just choose a girl's name you like. The feminine spelling is too try-hard and I cannot imagine that she will thank you for it in future.

Why are you determined to use a boys name, with a (you think!) "feminine" spelling? Most people won't have a clue how she spells it, they'll just know she has a name usually associated with boys and think it's a bit daft.

Not sure, I just picture the name differently for a girl Confused I'm not set on a boys name, I just can't find one I like that isn't! Well, I like Kiera... But not sure it goes with surname
