Modern Arabic Boy Names

Hi everyone, I just found out I am having a baby boy and while I had a long list of girl names I liked I do not have many boy names. So far I have chosen names like zayn,laith,hadi, and elyas. My husband likes none. I like 1-syllable names that are short and easy, but he likes names a little more 'traditional'. We live in the US but are of Arabic origin and practice Islam so I'd like a Muslim/Arabic name that would be easy to say in the US. I liked names like ayman also but just thought it would get my son teased in school! I have one daughter named 'Tala' so I would like something to match that as well. Any and all suggestions are welcome :)

My dad's name is Samir, obv. I like it but he doesn't lol.

Seif was one of my top names, he says he likes it but not enough to name his son...We have to deal with pregnancy for 9 months we should get a larger vote shouldn't we? Lol Grin

Getyourselfchecked, I love those names too! Karim is my nephew though and husband vetoed Omar... and every other name I liked. He is so difficult and is stuck on Khalid- I hate that name and feel like it is especially difficult to pronounce in the US.

I'm trying to convince for Adam now...any more suggestions would be helpful!

Omar and Karim are my favourites. Just wish I could get away with an arabic name for my baby but no arabic/islamic heritage at all :(

DS1 has a friend called Hayder and it could be because he's a real little sweetheart but I love that name now.

I know a Jaraah too and again since he's a lovely guy I like that name too!

You're welcome. I'm half Arabic (UK though) and my other half vetoed all my Arabic suggestion names last time around. Fingers crossed for this time Wink

I love both actually! Zaid was a no from my husband now I'm gonna have to get convincing on Aiden. It's short, sweet, and easy! Thanks sweety.

Thank you everyone! I love so many of the names that were mentioned, Zane, Amir, and Rayyan were a few that my husband crossed off my list.

At this point he's set on Khalid.

I'm definitely not.. lol

And while we still have many months to go Id like to agree on a name. One less thing to stress about, plus my husband would probably wait until the birth if I let him Hmm

My 15 year old nephew who is Muslim is Zane. I love it. It's probably a lot more popular after One Direction or whichever teen bad had a Zayne though.

We have Abdul-Sami. It is traditional, but you cannot have Sami without Abdul! Therefore I went with it. However he is called Sami at nursery and at home. Could you share some of your Arabic girl names?

ArtandCo, I love the name Aiden.

I mentioned it previously to my husband and he said it wasn't Arabic. Maybe because I was pronouncing it like how we do in the US. Any idea what the meaning is behind it? I looked online but had trouble finding it with Arabic origin. I think all of the ones I found were 'Irish'.

IndianaJone, Thank you dear! Very nice name indeed, however it is my husbands name :) He tried to convince me for an Ibrahim Jr, but I wasn't convinced lol !!
