DF is Geoff.

FiL is Richard.

I like Richard a lot, to me it's a classic boys name that hasn't dated, also the name of one of my best friends - but don't think DH would have chosen to name a son after his father.

Geoff on the other hand I doubt is going to make a comeback any time soon....

My dad's Daniel (goes by Dan).

My friend's dad is Herman - sounded dated even when we were little and the poor dos was barely into his thirties.

My dad was known as Andy at work and Drew everywhere else

My fil is Gerald

If we'd had a boy he would have been named after my dad as Michael is classic and rimless but Gerald not so much so.

Our dad's are Harry and Michael.

Oddly on either side of the family we have those names duplicated.... ie my dad is Michael and DP sibling is Michael
