I've gone off it now, Emma-Lean reminds me too much of Kathleen. I do however like Caroline.

Emma-lean but as Burgatroyd points out, people will mistake it for Emily all the time in spoken conversation.

You can tell it's 'Emma-LEEN' not line, because of the rhymes.

Emmaline should probably be pronounced the same as Caroline...emphasis on line and not lean or lyn.....very pretty name

Gummi The point is that the first part of the name is pronounced the same as 'Emma'. Plus 'leen'. I suppose strictly speaking it is not actually an 'a' sound, but more like 'Emm-uh'. But that's the same with every name ending in 'a', and everyone knows what is meant, I would have thought.

U.K. Pronounciation is Emma Lean (based on the a a Milne poem, Emmeline to rhyme with queen)
