Rose, Rosie or Rosa?!

I love all three variations on this name - think Rose is very elegant and Rosa is slightly more unusual. My favourite is Rosie, especially with our surname as it has two syllables and ends in 'ey' too so think it fits well but know it is very popular at the mo...any thoughts on which you prefer? Thanks

You can use Rosie as a nn.

Not Rosie. Someone at work calls herself Rosey (not even her given name) and it's tragic as she is not cute in anyway and it doesn't come across very professional. However, I do know a lovely Rosie that works in a more creative industry and her name suits her. Give baby Rose/Rosa/Rosalind and then shorten to whatever you want.

Rose is old and staid, and Rosie a bit twee and cutesie.

How about Rosalie? my SiL is Rosemary and she is always known as Rose.

My friend has a Rosella, nn Rosie. (It's an Australian parrot too, just so you know)

I vote Rose...classic and elegant and the other variations can be pet names if Rose is a little to grand whilst she is small.

I like Rosanna, Rosalie and Roselle - gives you the option to swap and change nn as you want! :)

But of your choices, it would have to be Rosie. (Or even Rosy to be different)

Much prefer Rose to Rosa, it's more elegant. And you can use nn Rosie if you want. I have a lovely friend called Rosie who's in her 30's and it suits her really well, not twee at all.

I also love Rosanna, would also give you all of the options as nn's!

Rosa by a long way - love it. Think Rosie is more of a twee nickname and Rose is a bit blah nowadays.

My DSis is Rosalind on the birth cert, but gets called Rose in every day.

Or Rosy Posy if I'm trying to annoy her!

Rosa. It's elegant and unusual. Rosie is too twee, plus 2 names that end in the same sound dont really go

I know a Rosanna shortened to Rose or sometimes Rosie. Rosa would be another nn.
Otherwise Rosa.

I have a Rosie, she was always going to be called Rosie so that is the name on her birth certificate. I still love the name and it has grown up with her. It doesn't seem twee now she is early twenties. The other Rosie's I know one has the name Rose and the other Rosemarie but they have always been called Rosie.

Someone once said that housekeepers on American TV shows and films are always called Rosa. And it's true!

I love love love Rosa but my friend has one so couldn't use it! Rose is lovely too but Rosa is just gorgeous! Not a fan of Rosie at all but I love Posy!
