Scottish folks - how to pronounce Beatrice?

Beatrice is my mother's middle name and is on our shortlist for girls names. I'm dragging my heels as I'm not entirely sure how I should be pronouncing it.

DH is English and is very clear how he would pronounce it. I'm Scottish and we live in Scotland so want to be sure I pronounce it the way it commonly would be.

So is it:
Bee-ah-trice or
Beer-trice?

Not Scottish but interested in this. If any of my boys had been girls they would have been Beatrice (19 and in 20's now). My family (the very posh side) had one, it was pronounced, if I can convey it properly, 'Bee er triss' with the 'er'in the middle being said very quickly. My ex said 'Bee ah triss'. Not much difference, but I prefer ours. Grin absolutely gorgeous name, and ours was a lovely, much loved great aunt.

Definitely Be-a-triss or Be-uh-triss for me. But I am Irish so never use that pesky 'intrusive r'!!

I say 'Bee-triss'. I'm from central Scotland.

I'm shocked at the beer-triss responses. I've never heard an r in it. I would say bee-a-triss (borders)

(I'm from NI, but would expect Scots to say Bee-uh-triss or Bee-triss)

I'm astounded at the Scottish people saying they add an "r" sound after "Bee"! I've never heard that in my life! I say Beet-riss, and I've heard some say Bee-a-triss, but never "Beer". Confused

I'm in the Lothians.

I'm north lanarkshire. Decide which way you want to pronounce it and then tell people that's what it is.
