My dd's best friend at school is called Maggie is a sweet name I really like it but I'd assume it was a nickname for Margaret

I really love it. I'd use Margaret though (then she has other nickname options - Meg and Greta are also fab). Or Margot - could that shorten to Maggie? Fantastic name, anyway.
