James and Henry have a brother arriving soon. Shortlist is:

Arthur
George
Edward

Middle name will be a family name probably don't know which one. We are going round in circles with the first name and only have 6 weeks left.

George. I thought George before I clicked on the thread and saw it was on your short list.

Another vote for Edward

Arthur

Andrew

All 3 are nice and 'go' with Jamed and Henry. Might just be a matter of waiting until he's born and seeing which name out of the 3 suits him best?

StitchesInTime · 14/02/2016 09:58

All good, Edward is my favourite of those 3.

Edward sounds just as royal as George BTW. There have been 8 King Edwards, after all. And there's the mythical King Arthur too.

On a less serious note, James, Henry and Edward are 3 of the main engines in Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. They each get a line in the theme song.

Alexander or Oliver or Benjamin

FireDay · 14/02/2016 09:54

No we don't shorten James or Henry.

We considered Alexander but it would definitely become Alex (don't like sandy or xander) and alex just seems.... Meh....

Edward is currently the favourite.

Arthur is a bit "out there" (not even top 100 in the country we live in although I know it's reasonably high in England)

James and Henry are so safe that Arthur is a bit crazy for us although we like it.

George... Not sure if it's too similar to James and also do they sound too obviously Royal as a threesome set?

Edward is the default leader at the moment then.

Alexander

GoldPlatedBacon · 14/02/2016 09:48

Edward is also my first suggestion.

Alexander, William or Samuel are in the same ilk

I was going to say George. Do you shorten James or Henry? Art is a nice nn if so.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/02/2016 09:47

Edward

cosmicglittergirl · 14/02/2016 09:46

Although George works well too.

cosmicglittergirl · 14/02/2016 09:45

Came on to suggest Edward and it's one of your choices.
