Wulfric or Cato

I know most of you will hate these names but after a long process, DH and I have finally come up with a top 2. I love both and DH is leaning towards Wulfric.

DD is called Persephone, which everyone also hated a few years back Grin but it suits her and we've never regretted her name.

So which do you like more? I know some of you will be tempted to say neither Wink but that's not very helpful.

That will my pop culture references. For me Cato is from a teen novel, I didn't register it as a classical name.

Yes Wulfric is one of Dumbledores names. Along with Brian. Although that's probably not to the ops taste (would guess it is just unusual in the current generation though ).

I like Wulfric and would go for that out of the two. Actually I like Cato too but I think lots of people a) wouldn't pronounce it right and b) would think it's a girl's name as it sounds like Kate. I knew a Cato - short for Catherine - and it really suited her, so I now can't really imagine it on a boy (even though the original was male) but perhaps that's just me.

I like Persephone very much. Out of interest, does it get shortened? Seph/Sephie would be cute too.

Wulfric, nn Wolfie. DH works with a Wolfie (he's German, full name Wolfgang) I think Wolfie is a brilliant, cool nn.

If I heard Cato I would assume you were a massive hunger games fan. I guess much the same as some of the Twilight names, which increased in popularity after the books were published (am thinking esme).

Wulfric wouldn't be my choice. I like wolfie as a nickname though.

I'll be an outlier and say I prefer Cato with Persephone, but Wulfric is also an awesome name.

Also props for having such good taste! I think we would be friends!

Ok, I thought it was Cat-oh as well. So in that case def wulfric, though I personally wouldn't do either.

I used Cato as a middle name on my DD. Because it was such an awesome name I couldn't not use it, despite her not being a boy!

Cato would be my choice. But I like Wulfric, too! (And Persephone, so I guess I like your naming style in general :) )

Cato. because it reminds me of the green hornet. I'm not keen on wulfric, sorry
