I'm loving Brodie - I came across a lovely one and now I can't stay away from it!

Always seen it as a girls name because of brody dalle

MrsRolly · 03/03/2016 18:01

Love it! It's one of the only names on my list for if our bump is a boy but someone at DHs work has a son called Brodie and he's vetoing it much to my disappointment (I'm still trying to get him to change his mind - he likes the name but worries they may think we are copying)

BroadcastHouse · 03/03/2016 17:15

I like it. Very Scottish.

Strokethefurrywall · 02/03/2016 21:50

Love it - both my boys have surnames for first names and yes, DH is Scottish. Brodie would have been on my list if it didn't sort of rhyme with our very Scottish surname.

MadameDePompom · 02/03/2016 11:39

I like it. I know a little Scottish boy with this name.

The 'anti surnames as first names' brigade will hate it though! Wink

schmalex · 02/03/2016 05:58

I used to know a horse called Brodie.

mellmumma · 02/03/2016 05:38

Love it!

redmini4 · 06/02/2016 23:59

Really like this and like other contributors it is a Scottish name.

Strokethefurrywall · 06/02/2016 01:24

Love it!

paxillin · 06/02/2016 01:24

It's a disease, so no from me.

MyNewBearTotoro · 06/02/2016 01:23

Love it.

Tactfulcactus · 06/02/2016 01:07

Not for me. But it would be a good name for a border terrier I think.

duckduckquack · 06/02/2016 00:45

Love it!! Can I steal it for my girl due in May??

mrsschu · 06/02/2016 00:42

Dreadful. But then I dislike all surnames as first names. And if that wasn't enough, it's also the name of the terrorist in Homeland...

Primaryteach87 · 06/02/2016 00:27

I think of terrorist from Homeland....sorry! Not sure if that would be a unusual connection (probably, so ignore me!)

ClaireD2212 · 06/02/2016 00:23

I really like it :) DH didn't :(

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 05/02/2016 23:32

I only know a girl with this name but it is nice for either.

MadameDePompom · 05/02/2016 21:26

I like it.

WaverleyOwl · 05/02/2016 20:26

It's a dogs name to me, as I had a friend with a retriever called Brodie when I was little. And I grew up in Scotland. But if you love it, go for it! I like it!

Saveferris1234 · 05/02/2016 20:23

I have a Brodie and he's lovely Grin. Therefore, it must be a lovely name!

weebarra · 05/02/2016 20:20

I like it. Not uncommon here in Scotland. I think of it in the same group as Struan, Harris, Murdo!

DangerMouth · 05/02/2016 20:20

I really like it, go for it!

MrsJayy · 05/02/2016 20:18

Oh i like it if any of Dds had been boys I had Brodie or Blair as names

GraceS123 · 05/02/2016 20:18

I usually only like 'popular' names and I think this is the only 'not so popular' one I like!

I love it. But dh vetoed on the basis that I blatantly fancied the Homeland character, though Brody was his surname.
Prefer Brody spelling.
