Help with welsh baby names!

Dh's family are welsh, and we're keen to use a welsh name for our baby.

The two we current like the best are Dylan for a boy and Ffion Gwyneth for a girl. Can anyone please suggest other welsh names for us to consider?

I'm not welsh at all, but a bit concerned that Dylan and Ffion are lovely names but a bit too popular - though that might not matter living in England. I was the most popular girls name for the year I was born and really want to avoid that for my baby!

We're going for Welsh first names in England (dh is Welsh and his family all have Welsh names) so need to consider spelling and pronounciation too.
I love Ieuan but we have 2 in the family and dh vetoed gethin and ianto (ianto didn't really meet my English friendly criteria!). So current boys favourite is Trystan. Girls choices are Catrin, Megan with our favourite being Nia.
Can't wait to meet little one now - hopefully less than 11 weeks to go!

Oooh many lovely names.... I'm not Welsh but my fave boys name is Aneurin and my mum has a female friend called Nest (circumflex over the e!) which I think is gorgeous....

I have a Welsh name and have never lived there, although mum is Welsh and I spent a lot of time there growing up due to family connections. I love it, always have, although I have to spell it out every time!

We have adopted so I did not choose my children's names but if I had given birth Ceridwen and Gwydion would have been my top Welsh choices. I do think Welsh names are glorious, good luck with whatever you choose.

DH is Welsh and we live in Wales. My two are Tomos and Gruffydd. My English parents call them Tom and Griff. If they'd been girls they would have been Carys and Alys.
We also considered Ifor, Idris, Gethin, Iestyn, Ieuan and Huw for DS2.

I have 2 sons named Tomos and Gwilym.

My English family have had no problem with either...Except they assume that Tomos is pronounced the same as 'Thomas'.

If we were to have other children then we probably would have chosen from:

Manon (my favourite welsh girls name)
Fflur

A friend of a friend has a girl called Magwyn (sp?) or maybe it's Magwen? I've never heard it before. They also have a boy called Gwion.

I wanted to name my son Ieuan but due to moving to England went for an English name. I felt it'd be too hard for people to say here. And we'd be forever spelling it.

Lovely names on here.

We're not remotely Welsh but Gwilym is the only boys name I like for my second son, due in a couple of weeks. Husband is not quite convinced (he likes Eldon and Hallam) but there's just nothing else that feels right.

We live in Wales and have Arwen Eirlys (girl) and Gethin Ieuan (boy). These are pronounced ayerlis (for Eirlys) and yi-yan (for Ieuan).

Gwilym is Gwi-lim, the Welsh variety of William

The children speak Welsh with their dad, I understand a fair bit after 15 years, but I don't really speak much.

SpecialStains I'm not allowed Bryn on my list because of twin towns either. Whenever I suggest it, Dh goes "well fucking hot dogs it is then boy bach!" Which is apparently a quote from twin town. I am very northern english, Dh is valleys welsh He's also vetoed Delilah, even though that's not Welsh! Bloody Tom Jones...why why why?

I love Ceridwen, Eleri and Angharad. Osian, Emlyn and Iestyn. I met a Llwelyn once, who went by the nickname Louie.

Bronwyn - no. Bronwen - a possibility.

-wyn is the masculine ending, -wen the feminine.

Bronwyn is like calling a girl Antonio or Flavio.
