Seriously irrelevant to me, but a family member is considering it and wondering on opinions.

I really like it!

I like Erica, agree with the pretty-but-not-frilly description

I don't like it, it sounds quite harsh. I'm not generally a fan of male names which have been given a female version eg. by adding an "a" onto the end or whatever. I don't like Eric either though.

I quite like Erica.

Eric is a great name and due a comeback.

Love it!

I don't like it, but I also don't like Eric.

It's a very nice name--pretty but not too frilly sounding.

I wouldn't assume "namesake from Eric" at all!

When I was 7(ish) I saw the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Witches.

For quite some time thereafter I was obsessed with the name Erica.

I like it still.

Nice name, but IMO its more of a name sake name for example. You'd have to have a dad, grandad, uncle named Eric to carry it off. My DD has a friend named Erica, she was named after both her grandads (Eric) and the first thing she gets asked when introducing herself is. Who were you called after or is your dad called Eric.
