Could you give some opinions on these names? Maybe rate in order of preference. Thanks

Layla, love

Poppy, nice name but quite popular

Olivia, really don't like, reminds me of olives (green, bitter, salty, oily & shiny) plus is incredibly popular

Leila is a lovely (and proper) name; Layla, IMO, just isn't. Spelling makes a real difference.
I like Olivia, also Poppy, but they are so very of their time. They'd date her, in much the same way as Jane/Claire/Kate/Louise (all lovely names) dated my generation.

Layla is my favourite but prefer it spelled Leila or Laila
I like Olivia but I know soooo many of them
Nothing wrong with poppy but don't really like it

FuckedUpFanjo · 30/01/2016 09:50

I would pronounce Leila as Leela. Isn't futurama Leila pronounced Leela?

Anyway my favourite would be Layla, with Poppy and Olivia waaaaay down there, just too overused for my taste.

Sophronia · 30/01/2016 07:22

Agree with a pp that Layla is nicer spelled Leila

Layla: love and would be on my list
Olivia: same if if weren't my besties daughters name
Poppy: I don't hate this name just prefer the others

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 30/01/2016 01:59

Olivia: classic but ubiquitous, love Libby or Liv as a nn
Layla: contemporary, quirky, prefer Eric Clapton spelling rather than Futurama
Poppy: I love flower names, love poppies, esp if summer baby, but it is for me an upper class name like Pippa, plus I do not want to share anything in common with Katie Hopkins, sorry ;-)

I would have Layla but spelt Leila. Then Olivia then Poppy.
