Cedar, Calvin, Huxley or Tate

I'm leaning towards Huxley but then I heard the pig song. Do you think anyone still gets that reference or just old people?

The other option - probably saved as a middle name is Atticus

Love Calvin and hobbes, Tate Donovon is yummy, Cedar is an awesome name, wish my dh would approve but he's a fuddy duddy into traditional names. Wink

They're not to my taste. Bit too trendy and wannabe hipster, and will date. But each to their own! You probably wouldn't like my kids' names!

I like Tate too but our surname sounds a bit like Wong, so I worry it would sound like Twong if that makes sense

I think of Dudley because to me, it and Huxley are both unappealing sounds rather than names. Plus the -ley thing, I suppose.

Calvin, and Cal in particular, are awesome names.

I am biased though, I have one and the only associations anyone has ever made are Calvin Harris, Calvin Klein and Calvin & Hobbes - which are all perfectly respectable imo.

He loves going through airport duty free as he thinks they've all put welcome banners out for him .....

Calvin, underpants
Tate, Sharon or Gallery
Cedar, Falls.

I think "and Hobbes" for Calvin. Which is not a bad thing.

I like Huxley and don't think you should worry about the pig song! It's not in my frame of reference much less his generation's.

Do people who like Calvin automatically think "and Hobbes?"

I like it but I'm wondering what kind of camp it falls into in the US as we may end up there one day

Calvin is by far my favorite from your list. I also like Atticus.

Definitely not a fan of Tate - far too surnamey in my opinion.

Cedar is lovely, I was at school with an oak and I always thought that was fab.

Calvin is also good.

I don't understand the Dudley Dursley connection. Just googled and it's Harry Potter but I've managed to never read any HP so far. Is it the "ley"s sound or does he do something that sounds like Huxley?

Hate Huxley. It reminds me of a retching sound, and Dudley Dursley.

Calvin is nice.
Tate, meh.
Cedar, alright but not great.
Atticus, my least favourite of them after Huxley.
