Looking at boys names for DS2 and struggling a bit. DS1 has a traditional top 10 name but we can't find another similar we like for DS2 so I'm thinking we might need to go a bit more unusual. So I'm looking for some inspiration!

Saw Kipling on a name list for boys and love it... Rudyard Kipling is one of my favourite authors.

Lead to this exchange though

Me: Oooh I love Kipling.
DH: Its the exceedingly good cakes
Me: Nooo as in Rudyard Kipling. Can't we put Kipling on the ideas list?
DH: Nooooo.
Me: Okay if it's a boy can we use Rudyard?...
DH: As in the lake 30 mins
Me: Well Rudyard Kipling's named after that lake.
DH: We should choose a different lake if we must have a lake name.
Me: Like what Windermere?
DH: That's not a lake, it's a mere :-P

I like Ivor and Leopold.

RiverTam · 24/01/2016 20:27

Keir
Ezra (though I think that's becoming more popular, still a gorgeous name though!)

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 24/01/2016 20:25

Yonah
I love Ira too.

Bendy, dh liked Cal for our second but it reminded me of calorie (might have been pregnancy brain!)

Likeaninjanow · 24/01/2016 20:11

Bendy - how about Callan?

Clueing4looks · 24/01/2016 20:10

I Iove traditional names and both my DC have 'old people' names, but when I was having my son I loved the name Laszlo.

Saint John (pronounced 'sinjun') is a middle name tradition in my exH family for boys but I just couldn't bring myself to do it!

dementedma · 24/01/2016 20:05

Laurence is lovely but really don't like it with the "aw" spelling.
I also like Dominic, Guy, Sebastian, Simon, Jude,Christian, Caspar, Reuben....

BendydickCuminsnatch · 24/01/2016 20:00

Jos (DS) :)

Reeeeeally want next boy if we have one to be Cal, but don't like Callum or Calvin enough. Or Caleb. Boo.

Also love Gregory/Gregor

strawberrypenguin · 24/01/2016 19:59

Laurence is growing on me, hunk we'll add that to the (very short at the moment) list. We've got Dexter, Evan and possibly Jarvis on it so far too.
Love Benedict we nearly used it for DS1 but it didn't seem to suit him. Can't use it for DS2 because it would be rediculous with DS1's name!

My DH vetoed Saint John. We called DS Robert Christopher James instead. All family names. Nn. Bob! Grin

Dontkillmyvibe- I know! I do love kit though but my DP is a man united fan so if we do have a boy, and decide to use that name, people we know are undoubtedly to make that connection Hmm

I'm struggling to say the names of Rooney's 3 kids together - bit of a tongue twister when all said at once!
