Eva or Maya? Also Xavier?

Love both names for a girl, and I just wanted to get some feedback because I can't pick between them and I don't know what we're having just yet, but Xavier has been mentioned for a boy, it does remind me of the X Men but I don't think it's that big of an issue, so would like to know if people like it

Wow, didn't realise pronouncing it with an Eck was such an issue, if we stick with it we'll probably pronounce it Zay-v-er for a boy now and I think DH and I are going to go with Evangeline with Eva as nn for a girl

Evangeline sounds nice. Good choice from Eva to Evangeline.

I have a 2 year old Eva so obviously I love the name. There are a lot of Ava's and Evie's in her nursery but no other Eva's, I also have a Sophie so I'm not too bothered about popularity of names, in a school of 350 pupils she is the only Sophie.

I know a little Xavier that is called Xavi pronounced Zavi.

My oldest DS is Xavier and we pronounce it Zay-v-er. I love the name!!

Maya is fairly popular, but I like it a lot. Far nicer than Eva.

Xavier is nice but Zav-yay, not eks-zave-ee-er.

Maya and Eva both pretty but very very popular.
Xavier is nice but pronunciation will be an issue. I would say Zav- ee-ay

Don't like Maya at all. Eva is pretty but really like it as Evangeline in full.

Xavier is cool. You can't pronounce it Ecks- though.

How are your pronouncing Maya? May-uh or My-uh?

I like Eva a lot.

Xavier I would spel with a Z so Zavier just because I don't like X names!

Zav-yay is how you say it if you're French. Hav-ee-air is how you say it if you're Spanish. Ecks-ay-vee-er is only for x-men, and I understand the English pronunciation is Zay-vee-er.

Xavier, I understand is pronounced Zav e ay, or possibly in some countries hav e ay - definitely not Exav e ay, you would be setting yourself and him up for a lifetime of ridicule, similar to people who pronounce Sian See-an and Siobhan See-ob-Han!
Other than that it is ok but I would find it a bit odd if you were not French.
Maya and Eva are both ok - Maya probably a bit less popular .

I'd pronounce Xavier zay-vee-er

I like Maia spelled this way

I love Xavier but not the pronunciation you're using. I'd pronounce it zay-vee-er.

Didn't realise Maya and Eva were so popular, I do like Evangeline, it's really lovely.

I'd pronounce Maya as My-a and Xavier as Eck-Zay-Vee-Er, didn't think people would like it very much, so I'm pleasantly surprised

I never know if maya is pron may-a or mai-a and a friend who has a maya always has to correct people, including me! That would put me off.

I think evangeline, nn eva is lovely. Also came across a little evelina recently.

Almost every single girl baby I've come across recently is called Eva/Ava/Evie/Eve/Eilidh (I'm in Scotland). I personally would avoid Eva for this reason and I also think it looks weird in writing for some reason but that's just me!

Maya is nice but I'm not sure how you pronounce it - May-a or My-a?

Xavier is not for me to be honest, I think it could work if you're quite posh though!
