My DH likes the name Edward if we have a boy, I like it but I'm not sure if it's to dated, I wouldn't want my child getting picked on for their name. Would that even happen? I don't know it's our first child.
I would really love to hear people's opinions.

My grandad was an Edward. The lad over the road is a five year old Eddie. All good.

Thank you for all your replies. Your opinions are making me like the name more now so that's great thank you. DH wants the middle name after his late grandfather which is Alan. So Edward Alan.

Its a great name.

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 18/01/2016 22:09

Lovely, timeless name.

SoWhite · 18/01/2016 20:34

It is classic. And beautiful.

Teddy is a lame nickname though. Ned is the best.

BlackRose0 · 18/01/2016 20:33

My younger brother (23) is called Edward - I love it, and think Eddie as a nn for a younger child is nice! To me, it's a classic name like James and Henry which never really date.

iciclewinter · 18/01/2016 20:28

Edward is a classic name. Not keen on Teddy though.

nearlyteatime101 · 18/01/2016 18:06

I always thought that Edwards was one of those timeless names; it would never be in or out of fashion. That what appeals to me about it actually. It's a classic and I don't think it would cause teasing.

katienana · 18/01/2016 18:02

It's totally innocuous no one would be picked on for that name.

BikeRunSki · 18/01/2016 18:02

I like it, and all the nicknames.

horseygeorgie · 18/01/2016 18:01

I love it. Very old fashioned but a lovely name.

toffeeboffin · 18/01/2016 18:01

Like it.

Eddy, Ted, Teddy etc too if you shorten it.

Akire · 18/01/2016 18:00

I really like it think it's coming back in. You could always have a cooler sounding middle name so has choice when older?

CJ1505 · 18/01/2016 17:57

Edward has really come back in! I think it's because of the NN Teddy - I like it! :)
