Short (slightly quirky) Boys names....like Finn & Seb?

Hi All! Baby boy is due in a few weeks and we're struggling on names - we both really like Finn but are a bit worried it will be very popular due to Star Wars?

Other names I like are Felix, Milo, Jasper...
Any ideas would be much appreciated! :-)

Oh, for Pete's sake. ZOMBIE THREAD.

Resurrected by the THIRD thread in a row looking for names for Sebastian's brother.

bridgetreilly · 15/09/2018 23:59

Roux is truly awful. I'd go for Gus.

Looking for some suggestions for baby boy names. My eldest is called Sebastian--a name we always loved even before I was pregnant. I like it because Sebastian is traditional but not common; and Seb is cool and trendy. He can use either.
I love Theodore/ Theo for the same reason, but my friend's son who is a similar age to my son is called Theo. So then I thought of just short names. When I've searched on other threads, lots of suggestions have been for longer names like Sebastian, but maybe I'd like a short one to go with Seb. Then I thought of Kit, but my husband went off that one because he works in football. I like Rory but our surname begins with R (can you imagine if he had a lisp lol?) so we settled on Finn but someone we know called her newborn Finn literally this week. I've suggested Arlo, Hugo and Jude but my husband doesn't like any of them. Any other suggestions? TIA

How about Red if you like Roux? Or Rue? Less saucy.

I know a Zed...maybe a step too far! Like Ned though

mummysophie23 · 01/05/2018 23:04

my two boys are called Wesley and Radley

villainousbroodmare · 15/01/2016 16:31

Anne of Green Gables, PEI is Prince Edward Island (I am having a sudden swoon of homesickness for a place I've never been! Grin)

MamaLazarou · 15/01/2016 15:06

I love Roux, Tate, Zeb and Keir.

CalliopeTorres · 15/01/2016 14:44

I have a Rory, nickname 'Roo'. And it means 'Red King' to go with the ginger connection.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/01/2016 14:41

Who's Anne Blythe? I think it's unusual, I've never heard of it.

MitzyLeFrouf · 15/01/2016 14:39

Anne Blythe I should say. I don't think PEI would have withstood the scandal of her sprogging before marriage.

MitzyLeFrouf · 15/01/2016 14:38

Anne Shirley's first born son was a Jem/James.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/01/2016 14:36

Is Jem really short for James. Does anyone know of any? I know a few Jems who are Jeremy's.

James has Jim, Jimmy, Jamie - quite a lot of 'short' names for a one syllable name.

nextusername · 15/01/2016 14:32

Jem short for Jeremiah?

MitzyLeFrouf · 15/01/2016 14:26

Me either.

People would be 'Roo? As in Kanga?'

I don't think of Roux as a name.

MitzyLeFrouf · 15/01/2016 14:25

Oh no Jeremy is an awful name. Jem should be short for James.

Ilovegummibears · 15/01/2016 14:24

Yes, Jem is great too, I like it short for Jeremy.

SnakeWitch · 15/01/2016 14:23

I like Kit (short for Christopher) and Jem (short for James)

Ilovegummibears · 15/01/2016 14:17

Finn is way overused imo, even before Star Wars.. think this will date badly. Don't like the sound of Seb, it sounds quite weak as a name.

I really like

Quinn (Quentin)
Milo (but it is a drink in many parts of the world)
Zeb (Zebedee)
Ash (Ashton)
Sol (Solomon)
