I think "it's a surname"

Pipistrella · 14/01/2016 16:52

Nick.

chrome100 · 14/01/2016 11:42

It makes me think of Lewis Carroll. Or Leeds University.

SitsOnFence · 14/01/2016 10:37

Gryffindor!

I went to school with a family of Griffin's (surname), so it does sound more like a surname to me, but I do think I could get used to it as a first name. It's not a name I would consider, but I don't dislike it.

Pipistrella · 14/01/2016 10:27

Men in Black!!!

Bobble hats!

NOOOOOOOOOO

Fifi10 · 14/01/2016 10:23

Forrest Griffin.... MMA fighter with sticky out ears

mrschatty · 12/01/2016 22:21

Harry potter.... asked dh he actually said the same

badtime · 12/01/2016 22:17

I thought of Griffin Dunne too (American Werewolf in London, After Hours and, er, Who's That Girl).

midsomermurderess · 12/01/2016 21:20

A newby in the Indian army during the raj but I guess that's not going to be a common reaction.

gingerboy1912 · 12/01/2016 20:59

Dragons

Thenightswatch · 12/01/2016 20:55

Family guy for me too

IamTheWhoreofBabylon · 12/01/2016 20:50

BNP

SleepyRoo · 12/01/2016 20:48

Griffin Dunne, nephew of Joan Didion. Cool.

Snowball789 · 12/01/2016 20:20

What about going with Gruffydd or Griffith (both pronounced Griffith!)? Similar but without all the other connections.

Millipedewithherfeetup · 12/01/2016 17:47

Harry Potter,s house.

MrsWhirling · 12/01/2016 17:35

Penguin.

IoraRua · 12/01/2016 17:32

Family guy and the mythical creature.
Nope, sorry.

Buttercup27 · 12/01/2016 17:27

Gryffindor
Griff Reeves Jones
Family guy
I'm that order.
But I do quite like it as a name.

HackerFucker22 · 12/01/2016 17:24

Family guy here too.

Surname

It's very harsh, not at all suitable [IMO] as a first name.

ColinFirthsGirth · 12/01/2016 16:55

I also think Nick of the BNP

Chinesealan · 12/01/2016 16:49

For a first name too twee sounding. I don't like the 2 short 'i' sounds. As a surname it's fine.

Sofiria · 12/01/2016 16:45

Gryffindor and then Family Guy, sorry!

Tirfarthoin · 12/01/2016 14:38

Welsh name and mythical creature

What do you think when you hear the name Griffin?
Ilovegummibears · 12/01/2016 14:13

I don't think of anything, actually. But if I met a Griffin, I'd associate the name with him!
