What do you think of the name Anelia

What do you think of the name Anelia the other half says people will say enema but I think Anelia is a really cute girly name any suggestions

I know one pronounced An-yell-a. It is Polish I think. I agree it looks like a typo for Amelia when written but it sounds lovely and is a very real name. The one I know is often called Annie.

It sounds a lot like Aneela to me which I do like.

Nothing like Anal in my accent as that begins with ay like in hay but I think your name an Aneela both start with an like the word an.

TBF it doesn't make me think of anal at all, it just makes me think you've made a typo in Amelia - as will every single person your DD comes across in life (schools, driving licence, job applications, banks etc etc).

Also I'd either think you were a bit thick & couldn't spell Amelia properly or that you wanted some dreadful unique name.

Use Amelie perhaps

either a typo for Amelia, if you're lucky, or if you're unlucky and people see that it is Anelia then it's too like Anal.

Another no vote I'm afraid. There are so many prettier names that sound similar. That one though is a bit odd.

That you were trying to make 'Amelia' unique. I suspect she would get very, very fed up of saying, "No, not Amelia - it's Anelia" throughout her life.

It does remind me of anal, like a pp said.
Is it pronounced like ah-nail-yia or ah-neel-yia, or another way? With the firdt pronunciationi hear "I'll nail ya", which sounds vaguely sexual or violent, I think...

Sounds like 'A kneeler' to me, as in something that you kneel on. It will get confused with Amelia too when written down. Amelie is pretty.

My grandmother is called Anelia, she's Hungarian. Very popular name there.
