What do people think if Dillon?
Is it normally spelt Dylan or are either OK (prefer Dillon spelling)?
I used to love the name but am worried it has become really common. Opinions??

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. I was talking about how it is culturally round here. I don't know where you live Smile

I have a Dylan and some people still write birthday cards to Dillon.
pipstrella I hope if we met I'd be able to hold a conversation with you! I can with most people. Or maybe our cultural circles are just too different.

Even spelling it Dylan people frequently spell it wrong Btw. And it is becoming more popular as a girls name esp in the Us.

I have an eleven yr old Dylan spelt that way, don't like the other spelling.
It's funny this name is common some say yet one of my other boys names is posh, another is a dogs name and my fourth son has a 'gansta' name according to mnet....

Most welsh people would pronounce it in the anglicised way, I think. So Dylan and Dillon would be pretty much the same?

I prefer the Dylan spelling. I know a Dillon and everyone assumes the other spelling. It must be annoying to have a name that is not unusual but that you have to spell out.

I know a female Dillon.

Thought it was just the female spelling since... appears not!

Dylan if you want a Welsh name, although it's pronounced differently from Dillon.

I don't like the name much but I do prefer Dillon to Dylan.

Wow didn't realise so many disliked the name. Dh is Welsh but we live in England and he was determined ds 11 would have a Welsh name. Dylan isn't common at all round here but I only like it spelt the Welsh way Dillon is a no no to me.

Dylan is the welsh spelling.

Dillon/Dhillon are Indian.

I prefer Dylan not biased

I prefer the Dylan spelling.

The Magic Roundabout hasn't been on TV for years so younger people probably won't make that association.

There are a huge number of them round here. None of their parents is the sort of parent I can have a good conversation with. It's a different cultural circle I suppose.

Dylan is the norm by a long way. I have only ever come across 1 Dillon, but many Dylans.

I quite like the name, but would spell it Dylan for simplicity.
