I think both Riley and Bailey go better with your surname than Joey. Although I do like Joey (biased!). I think Riley sounds best! Riley Wakeman rolls off the tongue nicely.

I prefer Riley as the only Baileys I know are labradors.

Surnames as first names is as a tradition old as time in Scotland so you don't to pay much heed to the appalled 'oh but they're surnames' reactions.

Actually realised have only heard Bailey as a girls name as well. It was on one on educating yorkshire .

For a boy I prefer Riley.

For a girl I prefer Bailey.

Riley is much better. Don't know any children named Bailey but I do know two dogs.

The Riley that I know is a girl, and the Baily is Baily-Rae, also a girl.

I'm not keen on either, particularly as they're not strong boys names imo.

I know a girl Riley and a boy bailey.

I think bailey is sweet, but comes from the old word for bailiff?

I also know a boy Morgan.

I would make sure you give him a proper 'boyish' middle name.

I prefer Riley.
It sounds good with a classic middle name eg Riley James or Riley George.

You've got a great, strong surname so I think you can have a less traditional first name.

Joey is a really nice name it goes well with your surname,

I prefer Riley to Baily but have only known girls called Riley. They aren't my favourite names but I'm a big fan of naming your child whatever you want.

I find all the popular classic names a bit boring (even though my own DC have very popular names )
