Erica or Clara

Finally narrowed our names down to these two. Any preferences? Baby due immenently. I think the plan is to see what she looks like and then decide.
I was never this uncertain with my son but have always found girls names more difficult.

When I first met DH, we (prompted by my nosy SILGrin) had a hypothetical discussion about what we would name our future children (we're talking second date here!).

Neither of us had a favourite boys' name, but we both said Erica for a girl! DH's choice was because he liked Eryka Badu... I prefer the traditional spelling.

We adopted eventually, so choosing Erica wasn't an option!

I'm such an idiot for not reading the whole thread! Blush Sorry.

Congratulations on your beautiful new bundle. I actually firmly believe that the child makes the name, so I'm sure Erica will be lovely on her! Flowers

KoalaDownUnder · 07/01/2016 14:11

Clara.

Totally agree that Erica is 70s. I also find it quite harsh-sounding.

aquashiv · 06/01/2016 20:43

Clara is nice.
Erica is rather 70's.

hawaiibaby · 04/01/2016 20:41

Clara for me definitely. A friend has a DD Clara, just sounds so lovely any time I hear it and it's so classic but not heard a lot.

AprilShowers16 · 04/01/2016 20:32

Congratulations! Erica Charlotte is a beautiful name adds to own list

Shockers · 04/01/2016 20:03

I think you chose well Smile.

Many congratulations!

SevenOfNineTrue · 04/01/2016 18:29

I'd go for Clara, I am not a fan of Erica.

Daysleeper1985 · 04/01/2016 18:27

Congratulations, love that you chose Erica! It's the best name ever!...and yes, my Erica is also a little feisty!

HelenaJustina · 04/01/2016 17:52

Should have rtft! Flowers on your new baby girl great choice of name!

WhereTheFuckIsWonderWoman · 04/01/2016 17:51

She is a bit of a feisty little madam so decided that Erica suited her best!

I'm an Erica and love that you went down that line of reasoning Grin

Congratulations Flowers

HelenaJustina · 04/01/2016 17:51

Clara definitely on the up round here, I like it but think I would go for Erica as more likely not to have three of them in the class.

harryhausen · 04/01/2016 17:48

Sorry! SO missed the birth update! congratulations. Beautiful name xx.

harryhausen · 04/01/2016 17:47

Woooo both lovely. I know 2 Clara's but not babies, about 8 and 11. Both lovely girls - and Clara tickles my Dr Who fan-girl boneSmile

I love Erica too though. I don't know any in RL.

Lottiedaydreambeliever2014 · 04/01/2016 17:15

Arg didn't see you chose Erica. Congratulations on the birth of your baby girl. Xxx

Lottiedaydreambeliever2014 · 04/01/2016 17:13

I love Clara Elizabeth. Find Erica a bit harsh sounding but Clara is so pretty!!

xmasseason · 04/01/2016 16:47

Congratulations! Smile

Bodicea · 04/01/2016 16:41

Thank you for your input. It was pretty 50/50.
Had our little girl this morning. She is a bit of a feisty little madam so decided that Erica suited her best!

My 3 year old is an Erica so obviously I think it's the best name ever. I wanted her to have a name that suited her whether she were a princess or a lumberjack or anything in between. It gets nothing but compliments, not that I'd actually care if someone didn't like it, lol!

soundsystem · 03/01/2016 22:33

Clara is lovely. I met a young Clara recently who was very cool!

PrimalLass · 03/01/2016 22:30

Clara.

Marcipex · 03/01/2016 22:29

Clara, beautiful name.

Shockers · 03/01/2016 22:23

Erica is one of my favourite names.

Kpo58 · 03/01/2016 22:21

Definitely Erica.

The "cla" in Clara makes my skin crawl...
