Would this cause our child a lifetime of teasing?

We have been trying to put together our choice of girls/boys names and although we are miles away from agreeing on the boy's (as with DC1, thankfully she was a girl as we never agreed on anything), we both really like a particular girl's name but with one concern... Our surname is a colour and this name could be a shade of that colour (think Skye Blue). It has the added significance of being a name already in my family. Do you think the child would be forever teased? The first name itself isn't weird or really unusual, but not particularly common either. We will pick a middle name too which will break it up, but obviously people don't use their full name day to day.

Sorry if I seem a bit cloak and dagger about the actual choice, I just don't want to reveal my surname!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Boosiehs · 25/12/2015 00:17

China Ware.

Heh.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 25/12/2015 00:14

And, allegedly, a friend of mine went to school with Iona Gunn.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 25/12/2015 00:14

Rose Garden, I know one of them. Wouldn't recommend.

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 25/12/2015 00:05

I know an Emerald Green and a Sandy Brown in RL. Neither reports any major issues with the name. If it sounds good and there is a family link I would go ahead.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 25/12/2015 00:02

Poo Brown?

grumpysquash2 · 24/12/2015 23:54

Yes, I think the child would be forever teased. Sorry. I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear.

JellyMouldJnr · 24/12/2015 23:16

PLEASE don't do this.

PrimeDirective · 24/12/2015 23:15

Just don't do it - it will ALWAYS be commented on.

MrsMichelRouxJr · 24/12/2015 23:12

Hazel Brown?

Ruby Red?

I wouldn't do it OP. If you're doubting the choice now I would trust your instinct.

Penguito · 24/12/2015 23:12

HeadingHome · 24/12/2015 23:07

Yep, I'm guessing Olive Greene too.

wizzler · 24/12/2015 23:04
