Pronounced "z-oh-la"
I know nobody else is likely to be called thIs in her class.

Just wondered what others thought of it?

Love it Grin.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 14/12/2015 07:31

I think of Zola Budd too. Which is not a bad association! I just don't particularly like the name. To me it sounds African which is fine if there is a cultural association but doesn't work in my head if the parents are very English.

Gileswithachainsaw · 14/12/2015 07:27

zola is lovely.

and she was the cutest baby ever on Greys anatomy Grin

MaybeAnOverthinker · 14/12/2015 07:20

Her second name would be just a middle name... Not a double barrelled first name so would hopefully not cause problems with spelling or a mouthful to say!

Very nice, but I think Zola Lily would be too much of a mouthful. Zola Phoebe would be lovely.

Coral2094 · 13/12/2015 23:48

I really like it, unusual, pretty and easy to spell!

babyblabber · 13/12/2015 21:08

There's a little girl in my daughter's class called Zola. I think it's really pretty!

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 13/12/2015 21:04

I think it's horrible, sorry.

whattheseithakasmean · 13/12/2015 13:27

Zola is lovely. My first thought was Zola Budd - I think a female athlete is a pretty good association.

MotiSen · 13/12/2015 13:24

Zola Leigh? Zolalee?

MaybeAnOverthinker · 13/12/2015 12:51

That's where I heard it and loved it Iguess!

Zola like greys anatomy

Sophronia · 13/12/2015 11:42

Makes me think of Gianfranco Zola too.

Oysterbabe · 13/12/2015 10:22

I immediately thought it was a boys name, probably because of the football association.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 13/12/2015 07:17

Zola is really nice. You couldn't have Zola lily. I would go for a single syllable middle name I think

MaybeAnOverthinker · 13/12/2015 07:11

Yes it's two syllables like Zo-la when pronounced!

Never seen a Chelsea match so wouldn't know of any players.

I was thinking Lily or Phoebe or possibly Emilia as a middle name?

There is a Zola in devious maids

Footle · 13/12/2015 06:45

Perfectly ok name but E Zola isn't exactly nursery reading.

BowiesJumper · 13/12/2015 06:31

Makes me think of grey's anatomy (cultured me). Pretty though!

Hurr1cane · 13/12/2015 06:29

I know a little girl called Zola.

It's a beautiful name

cashewnutty · 13/12/2015 05:51

I had a dog called Zola.

AuntieStella · 13/12/2015 05:49

I'd think French surname (author and footballer).

VashtaNerada · 13/12/2015 05:03

Makes me think of Emile too. I wouldn't immediately know if it was a boy or girls name, but I quite like it.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 13/12/2015 03:49

Zoellick ?????!!

That should be Zoe!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 13/12/2015 03:48

I know a dog named Zola (sorry).

I'm not keen - prefer Zara or Zoellick.
