Great choice. Violet is lovely.

pilates · 12/12/2015 09:20

Violet is gorgeous, good choice.

storm1974 · 12/12/2015 08:24

Thanks all for your comments I think I'm going with violet just need to think of a middle name!

"But VD is a very dated term, it's been STD for decades."

Still in use in the US, and you hear it on TV programmes from there. I wouldn't.

MadameJosephine · 10/12/2015 21:00

Not keen on any of your original three but I love violet

Surf25 · 10/12/2015 20:42

I understand the VD thing but to be honest I don't think many people would make that connection and not her generation anyway! Just give her a middle name and then she will have another initial to use anyway. Violet is lovely. Prefer to the other three.

TaliZorah · 10/12/2015 19:12

Yeah I wouldn't have thought about it if OP hadn't mentioned it

BikeRunSki · 10/12/2015 18:20

But VD is a very dated term, it's been STD for decades.

TaliZorah · 10/12/2015 17:49

Because her initials would be VD...

BikeRunSki · 10/12/2015 17:48

I don't see why a D surname should be a problem with Violet.

Violet Daniels
Violet Davis
Violet Donovan

All sound OK to me!

PeasinPod1 · 10/12/2015 10:50

Violet by a MILE OP!! Gorgeous. I am biased as know we are having a girl and will definitely be calling her this. Not keen on your other names at all sorry + they don't really have a vintage feel either.

Yika · 09/12/2015 21:13

Liberty is very pretty.

I don't like Violet (sounds like violent).

Indole · 09/12/2015 21:12

I can't see why the D would matter. I really love Violet.

celtictoast · 09/12/2015 20:55

Violet is a lovely name.

storm1974 · 09/12/2015 19:49

My surname begins with d fo you think violet is out for this reason?!

YakTriangle · 09/12/2015 18:14

Love Violet, that's much nicer than the other choices.

Indole · 09/12/2015 17:56

Violet is lovely!

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 09/12/2015 17:26

Honestly couldn't choose a favourite between liberty, India and Violet, think they are all lovely!

Ipushedmygrannyaffabus · 09/12/2015 17:25

India and liberty are lovely. Bluebell is a cows name and vile for a person!

Pantsalive · 09/12/2015 14:20

I like Violet.

When I was looking for names for my DD, I came across a Liberty Rose, which I thought was nice.

storm1974 · 09/12/2015 13:56

Many thanks for all your replies.... Violet us a favourite too!

AuntieStella · 09/12/2015 11:39

I think India would be the best match for traditional names. Liberty would be OK too.

SuckingEggs · 09/12/2015 11:37

They are not vintage at all...

badtime · 09/12/2015 11:32

If you are concerned about names going with your other daughters' 'traditional/vintage' names, I don't see how you could use any of these names.

celtictoast · 09/12/2015 09:19
  1. Bluebell
  2. Liberty
  3. India
