Need desperate help finding a boys names for baby due in 5 weeks. We don't like common/popular names. All of my friends' boys names fit nicely into the Ollie, James, and Alfie categories, and I am just not into those trendy names at the moment. I want something completely unique, but still a "strong" name and not something I have to spell. Can someone please inspire with a strong yet uncommon boys name?

I have Tristan and Winston. I'm well pleased with our name choices :)

Stollenlover · 08/12/2015 15:25

Or he might just be another Archie...?

NKFell · 08/12/2015 15:16

I have a John-Paul.

Did you see on the list 'Archimedes'. I wonder if his parents have high hopes for this one!

Stollenlover · 08/12/2015 13:57

Some great names on this thread. I really like

Angus, Quentin/Quinn, Orson, Julius, Jonathan/John, Calvin - all strong, solid classic names that aren't too common.

BlueChampagne · 08/12/2015 13:45

Hmm, strong, uncommon, yet easy to spell! How about:

Conrad
Julius
Nicholas
Samson
Flint

I have an Arron, I might go see where that name is on the table (well, where Aaron is anyway).

Chelsea26 · 07/12/2015 15:14

I have a Rory and a Ewan (Rory's in at number 87 but we don't know any)
I also liked Corbin, Lawson and Ross

I have a Rudy

hobitty · 07/12/2015 12:03

We have a Quentin. That's not too common but still well known (Quentin Blake and Tarantino are known by most).

There are lots of lovely classic names outside the top 100 imo!

Lweji · 07/12/2015 10:36

Completely unique you say?
Maybe try a password generator? Grin

It's so interesting how low the ordinary names of my childhood are, like Paul and Simon (pleasingly) together at 305. And the Marks, Philips and Richards down in the 200s and 300s.

MamaLazarou · 06/12/2015 23:18

Calvin
Marlon
Conrad
Ferdinand
Ernest
Bosco
Claude

Irishkez · 06/12/2015 20:20

I really loved Lincoln and Lachlan too although decided we would look like weird US president fanatics if we went with Lincoln!
If we had a third at it was a boy, I love Vaughn. Means little in welsh.

Surnames for first names get mixed reviews on MN but we've had nothing but compliments on our two. Sullivan especially gets lots of positive feedback.

jemimastar · 06/12/2015 08:11

Rex, just brilliant.

Laquila · 06/12/2015 07:59

Good I love reading the bottom bits of the baby names table! (That was probably the gimpiest sentence I've ever written.)

thatstoast · 05/12/2015 22:58

There's some great names outside the top 100. We were thinking about Carter as a middle name for DS but went with Lawson. His first name is 600 something on that list.

If you're into surnames Lincoln and Hudson caught my eye.

WiIdfire · 05/12/2015 22:58

Other names from the bottom of that list:

Rudyard
Roderick
Lester
Greg
Gibson
Diggory
Crispin
Alphonse
and Cloud.

But I wouldn't go with Cloud, if I were you.

WiIdfire · 05/12/2015 22:48

OMG there were three boys named Zulquarnain on that table? Is this a common name in a different culture? What am I missing???

LadyMaryofDownt0n · 05/12/2015 22:37

Love Carter & Sullivan those are great names.

Kit
Rex
Max
Zander
Cooper
Saul
Joel

Tatie3 · 05/12/2015 22:37
