A no from me I'm afraid.

I know a bloke called David Hoey. He bloody hates it apparently he always gets a ribbing.

TheComforter · 03/12/2015 22:31

Best game ever!

With the elimination of Joel, impending DC will either be:

Clement Lewis Gallagher
or
Claudia Coral Gallagher

elephantoverthehill · 03/12/2015 17:29

I'm even older, than the Brit pop people. What about Rory?

hazelnutlatte · 03/12/2015 17:26

I know a Gary Potter. He is known to everyone as Gary Potter, never just Gary. I've known him for more than ten years and still find his name funny! I don't think it bothers him much. OP I don't think it would be kind to call your dc Joel Gallagher, however Gary Potter had a perfectly normal name until he was about 18 so you can never really give your kids a bully proof name.

What about Jude? Or Rex? Just other names similar (imo) to Joel.

LilyKing0909 · 03/12/2015 16:06

I would...

squoosh · 03/12/2015 16:04

Oasis have that air about them of a band who will be on the cover of Mojo magazine in 2072. I'd be thrilled if I never had to hear another busker wail Wonder-feckin-wall at me but I won't hold my breath!

Civilizations will rise and fall but two things we can rely on will be a cockroaches, and buskers singing Wonderwall.

ThereIsIron · 03/12/2015 16:00

No, you must use Rory Grin

No I wouldn't.

MaisieDotes · 03/12/2015 15:49

tigger I thought that too Grin

squoosh · 03/12/2015 15:48

Noel Gallagher may not mean anything to the kid's friends but you don't go through life just interacting with people who are the same age as you.

Joel Gallagher is a comedy name.

CremeBrulee · 03/12/2015 15:48

I think you can. I didn't get the Noel connection (and I am definitely of the Oasis generation) and was pondering why not. I assumed there must have been a Joel in Frank Gallagher's crowd in Shameless!

Tiggeryoubastard · 03/12/2015 15:47

I thought you would suggest Frank.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 03/12/2015 15:45

I agree Louise.

Joel is a cool name. Noel, is what, 50? No one Joel's age will have a scooby who some old niche, second fiddle to his brother, musician with similar name is.
