What are your thoughts on Julianne, Juliet, Julia or Julie? Which do you prefer? (nn Jules).

Juliette!
Spelt the French way which I think looks beautiful

AuntGertrude · 22/11/2015 20:43

Julia

celtictoast · 22/11/2015 18:11

I like Juliet and Julianne. Juliana is a nice suggestion too.

OhPillocks · 22/11/2015 16:11

I know a 20 year old Julie - it's a lovely pretty name.

NadiaWadia · 22/11/2015 15:50

I actually think 'Julie' is lovely, especially pronounced the French way (where it's the normal form of the name). But because it was so popular over here in the 60s it's probably going to be seen as dated in the UK for many years to come.

Juliet is also nice, and Julia is classy (although I associate it with a very cold person I know, but that's specific to me obviously).

Julianne, not sure. I only associate it with American film stars, really. How about Juliana (pron. Julie-AHna)?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/11/2015 11:58

Juliet is nicest.

Julia has seen a huge surge near me because of it being used in the Polish community.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 22/11/2015 11:53

Oh hard decision. On a level of personal opinion. I'm not that fussed on Juliet, but there's no denying its a beautiful classy elegant name. I think I would go for Julia. It's so refreshing to see all the old names come back

Sophronia · 22/11/2015 11:48

Julia is classic and beautiful.

SwedishEdith · 22/11/2015 11:42

Julia is gorgeous. Classy. I think Julie might be due a comeback as well.

merrymouse · 22/11/2015 11:40

I like all of them.

CelestiaLuna · 22/11/2015 11:38

Any except Julie

Leviticus · 22/11/2015 10:49

Juliet. Classic, beautiful and not overused.

OhPillocks · 22/11/2015 10:47

I really like all of them. I think Julie is very cute.

TheDisillusionedAnarchist · 22/11/2015 10:45

Julia or Juliana

LBOCS2 · 22/11/2015 10:39

I have a Juliet. So I may be biased Grin

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 22/11/2015 10:36

My name's dated too IamaJulie. But I'm guessing our names match our vintage Smile

IamaJulie · 22/11/2015 10:23

That's not so bad, this time. I've heard really horrible things about my name on MN before.

I've told DC that if they want to name a grand-child after me, that I like Julia best. And absolutely not Juliet .

villainousbroodmare · 22/11/2015 09:47

Julie is my least loved of those.
As a pp suggested, does Julianna or Juliana appeal to you?

ashesandfire · 22/11/2015 09:39

Julie is dated IMO. Julia and Julianne are quite pretty. But Juliet is gorgeous! Love it

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/11/2015 09:35

Love Juliet, and that spelling.

MaisieDotes · 22/11/2015 09:32

Juliet, by a mile. Love it.

SanityClause · 22/11/2015 09:31

I like Julia, of those.

It sounds happy.

Paddletonio · 22/11/2015 09:31

Love Juliet

BikeRunSki · 22/11/2015 09:29

Juliet

My fantasy girl twins are called Josephine and Juliet.

GothJoose · 22/11/2015 09:21

Juliet was on my list but I was going to spell it Juliette. I just don't like Julie/Jools as a nn.

Julia is in top 100 names now I think which I was quite surprised about as I only know one who is 35(!)
