Not due until next year but still excitedly thinking about names Smile

So far this is our shortlist, would love opinions please!

GIRLS: Tabitha, Erin, Aria

BOYS: Ethan, Joseph (Joe), Max

P.S. It goes without saying that many people see Tabitha as a cat name but we love it Wink

Moriarty I'm a singer so I hope if it's a DD she will love opera! Or come to love it at least, it's definitely an acquired taste.

DH is now saying he's wobbling on Joe, which is such a shame as it seems to be the overriding favourite on here!

Never liked Erin I just cant find anything nice about it.
Tabitha is cute and every Tabitha I have known are sweet girls
Aria is pretty imo

I like all your boys name wouldn't use any myself but none of them would make me think yuck. Likely prefer Ethan at a push

Erin - sweet name
Tabitha - lovely - my fave (but DH thinks cat!)
Aria - pretty but depends on surname how it flows

Ethan - nice strong name
Max - meh -there'l be about 6 other max's in his class at school
Joseph - definitely my fave

Well maybe it's regional but baby Erins seem to be all the rage in Scotland! I know one in London too.

Ooh, I rarely post on shortlists as I'm not a fan of the main MN style names but like yours a lot!

Definitely Erin, DS could have been an Erin. I do like Aria (or Arya thanks to GoT) but would depend on surname I think.

Love Max, again could have been DS apart from our surname ruining it and have a DN called Joseph/Joe so love that too!

I meant in terms of general usage, but yes I can see it being most popular of those three. I think they're all nice OP - but I'd hope a girl names Aria would grow up to love opera, because she'll definitely be asked often if she does!

Actually out of the three names Erin is by far the most popular in the UK.

Do you think Tabitha would end up as Tab or Tabby (cat). Like the boys names, especially Jo or Joseph.

Well I have a Joseph Ethan, so a I'm bit biased. Max is nice too though. Love Tabitha, this would have been on the shortlist if we'd had a girl.

Erin - leave it to the Irish Americans
Tabitha - cat or a witch
Aria - pretty, the best of the girls list but not really keen

Ethan - yup. Grand.
Max - meh
Joseph is lovely

I like Joseph and Ethan. Less keen on Max but it's ok

I love Tabitha shame idiot DH can't get past the cat association and Aria. My favourite of the boys is Max then Joe, not overly keen on Ethan personally but doesn't have any bad associations I can think of.

Love Tabitha - really wanted it for DD but was vetoed by DH. The 'cat name' thing doesn't bother me at all. Also like Aria, but I have no idea about the GOT reference, it makes me think of music.

Joseph/Joe is lovely.

Aria is one of those names that is getting really popular due to Game of Thrones.

Erin is one of those cheesy Irish American names.

Tabitha is lovely.

I like Ethan, Joseph, and Max equally.

I'm happy there are so many votes for Tabitha! It's definitely our favourite at the moment.

Ethan and Joe flow better with our surname than Max does, which is a consideration I guess.

Middle name for Tabitha would be Rose.
Middle name for Ethan would be James.
Not sure for Joe or Max Smile

Tabitha is my favourite from your girls list, followed by Erin.

Max is my favourite from your boys list, followed by Joe :)

I love Erin, it was very nearly dd3's name. If she was a boy we were going to call her Max so that's my fave out of your boys names too. I do love Joe/Joey too though.

Love Tabitha, really like Erin. Think Aria's only going to get more popular - it's climbed from 1100th ish to 170th in just a few years. I'd avoid for that reason alone, but people assuming that you're really really in to GOT might be another consideration.
