OH and I cannot make our minds up and wondered if you could give us:

A) vote for your preference; and
B) Let us know what you associate the name with?

Do please say if any are too 2015?

Boys
Hugh
Sebastian
Logan
Jasper

Girls
Amelie (but would be a Millie)
Sophie
Verity

If you have any other names that you think would be fitting and is along the lines of the above that would be fab!

Thanks.

I am half French!

Only issue I have with Jasper is that OH surname ends in "er" so I think it may lead to bullying like you would have JaspER WalkER. Hope that makes sense?!

Names I love from your list-
Jasper -love this so much, strong, class but slightly quirky, could imagine a writer/artist/actor

Sebastian - love this too and NN Seb though suddenly quite popular

Sophie- always have loved this name, all Sophie's I know are popular, pretty and interesting/outgoing people.

Millie (not Amelie unless you are French, just sounds poncy)

celtictoast · 13/11/2015 09:23

Felicity is nice but I don't like the nicknames Flick, Fizz, Fliss etc. which I find either prissy or harsh.

autumnmoon · 13/11/2015 09:07

Ooh just saw your suggestion of Felicity. I like this more than Verity..... also Cecilia is along similar lines.

autumnmoon · 13/11/2015 09:04

Sebastian is my favourite of the boys by some way!

I'd probably vote for Verity because Amelie is popular/will date which is what you're trying to avoid and there are loads of Sophies around. i

SirChenjin · 13/11/2015 08:18

Verity

By a mile

Bodicea · 12/11/2015 22:43

I like jasper and verity.
Sebastian v common. Amelie is to. Logan sounds v American.

Wishsicles · 12/11/2015 22:43

Logan and Sophie :)

ashesandfire · 12/11/2015 22:25

I love Sophie and Sebastian.
Amelie is very 2014/5 IMO.

IoraRua · 12/11/2015 19:13

Verity and Logan are my faves from your list.

Jasper is nice too.
Sebastian...a bit overused, I've met a few.
Hugh is ok but just not up there with the others.

Sophie zzz, no, overused.
Amelie - ditto. And the same for Milly, oodles of Millys and Mollys and Lilys!

RiverTam · 12/11/2015 19:10

Hugh

Don't like any of your girls' names really. Sophie at a push.

OnePlanOnHouzz · 12/11/2015 19:09

Oh just heard this one ... Dulcie ( for a girl. ) thought it was cute !

AuntGertrude · 12/11/2015 18:44

Hugh and Verity

Sunshine511 · 12/11/2015 17:34

Sophie is more popular than Amelie, both gorgeous names but since Amelie is not as popular, that gets my vote Smile Verity isn't really my cup of tea but its a nice enough name.

My favourite from your boys list is definitely jasper Smile

Minimaus · 12/11/2015 15:47

I like Hugh, Jasper and Verity.

Don't like the nicknames of Sebastian (Seb/Sebbie/Basty) and Logan sounds very American. Millie and Sophie are SOOO overused imo.

AmyC86 · 12/11/2015 12:13

Hugh - Hugh Grant, soppy floppy haired quintessentially English man.
Sebastian - The hermit crab from The Little Mermaid.
Logan - Doesn't remind me of anyone famous, i would say that this name is the most common out of the short list.
Jasper - Regal. Reminds me of Jasper Carrott. However, love this name & have it on a shortlist myself. It does kinda reminds me of a pets name though Blush

Girls
Amelie (but would be a Millie) - Why not just call her Millie in the first place? I like Millie. - Have you considered Millicent?
Sophie - Very very popular name, it's at least in the top 20 baby names of 2015. Also, there's a cartoon called Sophia at the moment.
Verity - Nice name, but isn't it one of those names which is a bit dated at the moment, like the female equivalent to Brian? For example, most middle aged people born mid 60s. People's aunts will be called Verity.

Hope this isn't too blunt Blush hope ive given some good advice.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 12/11/2015 12:09

Sophie is ok
Amelie is nicer
Verity ....not sure, it's a grower
