Heard today:-

Spring-rose

At the doctors the other day was deliah-rose. Thought it was a misspell for Delilah but then maybe it's Delia?

And the when I worked in a nursery there was a little boy called deneil. Not too bad you say, till you knew his older brother was called Neil Hmm

Shockers · 07/11/2015 23:27

Randy Bumgardner Grin

Shockers · 07/11/2015 23:26

We met a girl named Blue on a skiing holiday. It was definitely her real name; she was in ski school with my children.

FrancesHaHa · 07/11/2015 23:22

I once met a small boy at a play group called Sparrow. Definately his real name as it was his birthday and we all had to sing to him.

Cerseirys · 07/11/2015 23:07

I once saw a man on the news named Randy Bumgardner.

SoftSheen · 07/11/2015 23:05

I recently met a lady named Lysandra, (I assume) the feminine of Lysander.

Justremember · 07/11/2015 23:03

My first penpal was a boy called Randy

Justremember · 07/11/2015 23:01

Misty (woman)
Peaches (woman)
Rain (man)

I worked with a man whose surname was LeFluffy....always made me happy (the name, not the man)

ButtonLoon · 07/11/2015 22:56

Thanks Libraries, the stories did seem too good to be true. Although why she would tell me that stuff when she was an inner city special needs teacher I don't know.

A small amount of research shows me a lot of pisstakers who claim to have met Lemonjello, Orangejello, Shithead, and Le-a.

Screaminlikeabanshee · 07/11/2015 22:45

Well, tonight I give you, make some noise Mason Noise, contestant on XFactor! First time I've watched it n years. DC said it must be his stage name, but I've googled it and seems like it's definitely his name.

pieceofpurplesky · 07/11/2015 22:43

I know an Angel too, who really isn't. A Neveah who is a delight and a Star who was the most normal, ordinary, nice person but never a star!
I have also known a Leaf, Moon and an Arlo (girl)!

BikeRunSki · 07/11/2015 22:38

French convention is to capitalise your surname, yes.

ButtonMoon88 · 07/11/2015 22:38

Ahhh haha Smile

zgaze · 07/11/2015 22:38

Once a year I had to email someone in France for work, her name was Fanny Force. I don't know if it's the French convention but she'd sign off with her surname in capitals. Fanny FORCE. Awesome name.

Oliversmumsarmy · 07/11/2015 22:24

Tarzan and his brother Batman

MrsFrankieHeck · 07/11/2015 22:20

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 07/11/2015 22:16

Ah. Wrong button.GrinI was answering ButtonLoonGrin See. These names are tricksy.

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 07/11/2015 22:15

It's a book Button..The names your SIL taught are all from the book. Either she taught the kids who also featured in the book or she was teasing you.Smile

OVienna · 07/11/2015 22:12

Jaime'e

Lweji · 07/11/2015 22:07

She could then go by Ho-Bo, or something.

TiggyD · 07/11/2015 22:06

Honey-Boo. Hopefully she won't be a goth when she's older.

ButtonMoon88 · 07/11/2015 22:03

Libraries- what's freakonomics Blush I've not made it up, I really looked after children with those names!

Lweji · 07/11/2015 21:44

I know a Greek man called Christos. I think it's fairly common.

And a couple of Israel from Spain.

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 07/11/2015 21:43

Button - Those names have been lifted from Freakonomics.

I met an Effraseeny (that spelling us probably rubbish). Fairly unusual Greek name she said. Went by Effy.

I also knew a male Hyacinth. I think those names as quite common in certain African countries.

Heard a Stryder in the supermarket recently. Not normally one for weird names but thought it was quite cool. Tinchy fans maybe?

Lweji · 07/11/2015 21:42

In Portugal is used the name Jacinto (a male name), which means Hyacinth.
It's old fashioned anyway...
